Stepping outside in the evening sunshine.

It has been much cooler here today and a lot more pleasant because of it!

Here are some evening pictures of sunshine and shadows.

Please help me with this first one. What is the name of this plant please?

These were taken as I moved along the same flower bed.

The next two were taken from our top lawn of the same bed. Sorry the second one is rather dark.

A corner of the trellis with a very strong white rambling rose and a pretty pink clematis

At the bottom of the garden is a collection of hostas, herbs and ferns, the bee hive with extra storeys now because of all this good weather and sun flowers reaching up to the sky.

This pot looks nice at the moment.

The last photo is taken from upstairs and shows how many leaves have been falling from our old apple tree.

I wonder what the rest of the summer will be like?

Agreed, Meadow. Our birches are dropping leaves, too.
Rose, you have some pretty groups of plants. It all looks very lush despite the weather. A symphony of pinks!

Hello Chris, I see you are relaxing in the shade there! It seems strange for your part of the country to be having a heat wave!
Here it is only about 20 degrees! At least it is a bit cooler for you now!
Your garden looks lovely and the roses , especially the climbing ones seem to have recovered now!
I can't help you with that first plant though.

Should have said, I think the plant looks like Sidalcea, Rose.

Yes Anget, that is it!
Thank you for reminding me.

Meadowland it makes me realise what a messy autumn it will be!!!
Anget our plants have to fight for a space as they all seem to grow amongst others in a bit of a squash and a squeeze!
Rose thank you for your very kind comments. Like you I do love roses and would like to make room for more but there really isn’t any!!!

I'm like you, I tend to roam the garden either early morning or evening. It's been too hot for me to cope during the day. Your garden is positively exploding with colour. Perhaps the apple tree is droipping its leaves to conserve moisture. I've noticed a number of trees seem to be dropping leaves early.

Waddy I have been just the same - much too hot to do very much just lately ( that's my excuse anyway!!!)

I agree with Anget, it looks very much like Sidalcea 'Elsie Heugh' Prairie Mallow. (I looked it up! 😂). I like these flowers, Waddy!
