A surprise on my cliff walk!

Yesterday whilst walking along the cliff path in Bude I was surprised at the flowers growing there.
There were the usual sea thrifts, gorse, bluebells and red campions AND ………
………and lots of wallflowers!!
Surely they must have been escapees from somebody’s garden!!
Sorry these last two pictures are blurred but I had to alter the size of them.
Hopefully next time we go, the sun might just be shining!!

Those cliffs are alive with colour, welcome on a wet day.

Certainly unusual! I've seen Wallflowers growing on the tops of brick walls as well as Snapdragons. They also come back year after year.
Just a minute or two's walk from our place there are Wallflowers that grow in the crack between the pavement & a house wall! They have been there for years & survive through frosts & droughts & heatwaves without turning a hair (or should I say 'a leaf'?) 👍

What a lovely walk, all those bright flowers, the Wall flowers a bit surprising. I wonder how they got there.

Feverfiew, Kate and Ange - your lovely comments brought a huge smile to my face. I must not take this walk for granted even though we do it so often! Thank you.

What a start to the day a walk along the coastal path how lucky are you - the sea thrift is my one of my favourites - I have tried to grow thrift in my garden but it doesn't do well
