Private Gardens Of Cornwall - Part 4

Marsh Villa Garden is another gem run by an elderly couple. Originally a farm on land that regularly flooded, they have planted a large garden on poor soil (birthday presents were frequently topsoil or compost!)
I spotted this hardy begonia, obviously enjoying life under trees
And I have the perfect spot in my own garden for fatsia japonica ‘Spiders Web’
The final garden on the trip was Cutlinwith. This was down several narrow lanes which the coach could not negotiate so the owners had to run a shuttle service for the last mile or so.
The main feature of the garden was a man-made stream and lake
There was also a sitting out area for cream teas
The weather was cold and drizzly for our last garden visit, but the tea and cakes made up for it! I would recommend looking at gardens in the southwest of England at the end of the summer – there’s still lots to see.

That is some garden! My sister and nieces are giving me tokens for my birthday.....they laughed when I said B&Q or Homebase so I could get an extra large bag of Autumn Lawn Food. Forever the gardener. :0)

Andrew, only just read this blog. Nice to see you went to Marsh Villa. Just up the road to me, Judy & Harvey manage it nearly all on their own, mainly Judy, know them very well.

Pam - Judy may be the gardener, but Harvey is the comedian. He had us in stitches when giving us a tour of the garden. He says he knows there's another major project for him in the garden - "My heart sinks when my wife wakes up and says, I was thinking last night ...."

MY OH has heard that from me more times than I care to mention......

Doesn't water make a difference to a garden? these are lovely. Have to say I prefer the lawn to the pebbles though!
