Private Gardens Of Cornwall - Part 3

Pine Lodge Gardens receives a lot of publicity so I was looking forward to seeing it. But I found it a bit of a disappointment as several areas looked untended or overgrown. But work has started on improvements and there were many interesting plants
I’m not a huge fan of abelias but I did like the flowers on abelia engleriana
Or for early colour, how about a variegated forsythia (F. suspense ‘Taffs Arnold’)?
What is the difference between a wild garden and an overgrown one? Pinsla is just on the right side of wild
Anagalis ‘Skylover’ is an annual but provides an intense patch of blue in early autumn
But if you like something with more substance, how about building your own stone circle?
Pencarrow is another large estate with trees and woodland walks
This damp area was still colourful
More palm trees and tree ferns
And some oversized wildlife
To be continued ….

Very different from the manicured garden but so appealing for all that Andrew
Have you been to Trebah? Where the Americans practiced then went from on D Day? It runs down to the Helford river.

Pamg - Trebah was in Part 1!
Talking of D-day, some of the planning for it was done here in Bracknell at Ramslade House on a former RAF Base

Looking and thinking about them all, I`d say it takes more care and effort to keep Pinsla from overgrowing and becoming unmanagable than any of the pristine gardens one sees.
Really enjoyng seeing all these gardens Andrew, thankyou....
