Lovely photo`s Andrew, the foliage is so good this year, I guess the trees, shrubs and plants all appreciated our weather even though we didn`t , I think its one of the most colourful autumns in recent years....

Bloomer - that form of yew is the upright one with a narrow profile. You can just cut the top of it when it's getting too tall. Just make sure to shake any snow off to stop it splaying open; you can also wire it to keep the shape

Red and yellow and pink and green ,
Orange and purple and blue ,
I can sing a Rainbow ,
Sing a rainbow , Sing along with me .
Listen with your heart ,
Listen with your heart ,
And sing every thing you see ,
You can sing a rainbow , sing a rainbow ,
Sing a rainbow too .
Anyone remember this? I think that Dusty Springfield sang it . It's been going around in my head since your lovely blog , Andrew .

not sure if it was Rusty Springboard - the voice my memory plays back doesn't sound like her. But there's probably been a dozen versions of it
If in doubt, ask Mr Google:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Can_Sing_a_Rainbow
They reckon Peggy Lee or Cilla Black but neither matches my memory voice.

Very appropriate photos, Andrew, for each colour.
So mild and warm today. I have lots of flowers in my gardens too.
