It is with regret that I have to announce the demise of Barney bear, garden helper to Andrewr, and faithful companion and much-missed friend of Bruno. He had fought a long battle with rot.
Poor Bruno was not only lonely and distraught, he was massively overworked. But today, a new helper arrived, Barney junior.
With just four days until the garden is open, Bruno is explaining to him what will happen. I just hope he is ready to meet the public on Saturday.
No flowers please, but donations to the National Garden Scheme.

A sad goodbye to Barney Senior. Alas it comes to us all in the end, though perhaps we don't usually suffer fromt rot...
