Probably The Best Spring Garden In The World

After the Open Garden on Sunday, I decided to treat myself and have a day out yesterday. I went to a famous garden in Kent and arrived just before they opened the gates. I made a beeline straight for the spring garden to get some photos before the other visitors arrived and this is the sight that greeted me.
Does it makes you want to rip everything out of your own garden and start again?
In case anyone doesn’t recognise it, this is the Lime Walk spring garden at Sissinghurst.

Andrew...They do look lovely but what happens with these borders after the spring flowers have gone over?

Potty - the bulbs are left to die down and then lifted. I think the borders are left bare (apart from the permanent plants such as euphorbias, pulmonarias and dwarf cherries) but busy lizzies are planted in the large pots. With a very large garden, you can have areas almost blank for part of the year but it's not really an option for our smaller plots

Thanks Andrew, I can see how in a large garden this would look OK but not on a smaller plot. :o)

Hi, what great photos, another one to visit. I was surprised when my mother and I visited Goodnestone Park garden in the spring. Really surprises that rhododendron's where thriving and so beautiful so close to home.
