~ This is the other side to our trip last weekend~ it was a nice warm day and there were two school trips there ,the children were well behaved and seemed to be enjoying their day out as we were~ I think it is great that they get to go as part of their studies!

I can’t take you into the Shirley Sherwood Gallery as no photography allowed but there is a very good book now on sale showing the paintings~ and the Marianne North gallery reopens in October and if you haven’t seen the paintings this Victorian lady did travelling on her own all round the world it is well worth a visit!

Views across the lake to the Palm house.

the new beehives.

~ A lovely display of cacti and succulents
whilst the one below commemorates Kew;s 250th Anniversary

Kew Palace

A few of the inhabitants

~ seeds sculpted in Willow

Views in the Waterlily house

and finally Kew’s Naked ladies and me!

Oh that was fantastic! Thank you SO much, Arlene. I used to take my HK students round Kew every year, and show them a bit of 'British' horticulture at it's very best, and they always loved the experience, and so did I!

Those willow sculptures are amazing! I liked the sycamore 'keys' the best, I think, but I wouldn't say 'no' to having any one of them in my garden!

Wonderful blog, loved it! Thank you!

thanks Everyone~I haven't shown the inside of the Palm house~you can walk around the top or the Alpine House or the new Tree Top Walk or the inside of the Princess of Wales Conservatory although I have put photos on in
previous blogs. There is so much more to see!
They are struggling to find the money to maintain the Millenium seed bank~the government are reviewing their funding, which sounds ominous when they are trying to make cuts everywhere~ so every visit helps!

Wonderful! I'll take the lotus pod seed in willow, please! What a great fund raising idea to raise awareness as well. Had to bring my bromeliad like #6 when I moved from FL, Aechmea fasciata 'Primera", I think (wintered on porch).
