Ferns un-furling........

your photos have convinced me dotty i need a fern.... they look like aliens comming out to play....

I have several and love seeing them open up.
They look different everyday.

i love them to dotty,, i have 3 i think , i love to watch them speed the uncurling up on tv, amazing

They do look weird Dotty but I`ve come to like them myself. I only have two and this is only their second year but I think they look smashing as they uncurl. Mind you I also have a tree fern and that IS weird...lol! Great photos. :o)

smashing blog Dotty. that would persuade us all to grow ferns! I bought half a dozen last year to fill some gaps in the shady border and to replace the hostas that the slugs feasted on. They take for ever to get going here, but they are fab when they uncurl. Thanks!

btw, the third photo is stunning! would make a cracking picture on a wall!

Ladies thanks for all your comments obviously I am preaching to the converted lol.......Viv I like it aliens coming out to play...Labdancer I do have a tree fern but as it is only 4ins high it was not worth posting a pic!! I have another lovely one to add but it is being rather obstinate, so will post at a later date.

There are so many different ferns and they are all so beautiful.

Aw thats a nice way of thinking of them Great. You have got a nice collection of them DDaisy, I`ve only got a couple of the common ones dont know the name.

Stroller started collecting when we lived in the Midlands, I have all the tags but have not a clue which one is which now, my very favourite is not on there yet....
