Wet weather blues!

Yet another day of heavy rain and my poor garden looks very sorry for itself. Tall grasses have been blown down and the lawn in the front is like a quagmire. Far too wet to do anything about it – roll on Spring!

Little ’Un has ventured into the living room this afternoon – obviously wanted some company so has foresaken his cosy heat box. As soon as Chloe saw him appear she jumped up on the chair, out of his way.

Good news – no more mole hills have appeared – although it may be that the ground is just too wet. Several paving slabs are very wobbly so I have to be careful when I go down the garden. More work for the Spring.

The squirrel appeared yesterday and spent a long time in the garden, climbing through bushes and up onto the bird table. Little does he know that I have just bought a squirrel-proof seed feeder! Don’t know how long it will last but I’m optimistic!. I spent an hour or so early in the week clearing up all the leaves (placed them in a plastic bag to make leaf-mould). It’s a job I quite enjoy – just as well as I will have to do it several times before November is through. Oh well, time to dig out all my gardening books and magazines and dream……

I'm glad the mole has gone.
Sorry to hear you've had rain. We've had a few dry days here but colder than usual.
It's nice to make leaf mold. My old garden was surrounded by trees and I made a lot then. Not so much here. I'll have to collect them from the roadside I think.
Enjoy your dream.

Do watch those wobbly pavings.
You've already hurt your back.
Don't need any more injuries.
Yes, dig out those gardening mags.
That sounds quite a peril-free pursuit.
Just don't double-dig out the books ~
You're not quite fit enough for that yet :o)
