Hello everyone,

April showers bring may flowers. Around here it has been April showers bring more May showers. It’s raining bucket fulls as I write. Not too bad a thing as the rain has helped all my new plantings and transplants in my front garden. Both my front and back gardens are growing amazingly fast. Most likely because of the rain and a good fertilizing. Here are a few pictures of the front garden taken this morning. All these plants are new as of July of last year. I’m thinking very positive that I will have a lot of color this summer.

I’m very happy to see the front looking pretty full for so early in the season. I will post pictures taken from the same spots in June.

The back garden is doing well. It’s hard to tell at this point where I lifted and divided perennials in half. Half went back in the same spot and the other half went to the front garden. This is a wonderful time of the year seeing all the plants coming back to life after all the cold and snow we get in the winters.

Happy gardening to all…

April showers brings May showers. Although, your in a different zone it seems we have the same growing patterns. (it must get colder sooner then the Jersey Shore)

Also, looking at your house it could be my neighbors house or down the street. I guess they are older homes built individually vs. a development. Not a big difference in the style of homes.

The yard looks great.....if it would only stop raining, eh?

Are some of these plants the ones you over wintered in your cellar Mike ? Gosh it does seem as if its been a long winter for you .. must be pleased to see the garden looking like this .

Thank you all for the great comments. Bonkersbon... The plants in the front garden are either new last summer or they are divisions from my plants in the back garden that I did a few weeks ago. The only plants that winter in my basement are the epiphyllum orchid cactus. Everything else amazingly survives the winters.
