The sketchbooks will be kept at the Brooklyn Art Library NY where people can go and look at them. I have the original paintings and sketches and made copies so my sketchbook will be more durable for folks to handle. Last year I did another Sketchbook Project called "Forks and "Spoons" which featured some memorable meals had on my trips to Italy and Paris. It is currently touring the US.

Thank you all very much for your kind comments. I am a retired art teacher who now has time to develop my own creativity in watercolours and in the garden. Most of these works are only small, 5 x7 , which give me the chance to explore the possibilities , and are a good size for making into cards.

Wow Nancy.....I have to tell you...I found this as a result of looking at your Iris photos and thinking that you 'must' be an artist.....and yes, you really are! I absolutely love your sketchbook, really love it! Have you got that website going yet? ;)

In my favourites!

8 Feb, 2013

In my faves too now . . . and can't wait to try painting an Iris!

8 Feb, 2013

I painted an Iris for my A level Sticki...it was the best bit of work I've ever done!

8 Feb, 2013

I think you mean "Sheila" Karen . . . my avatar and Sticki's are probably too similar! I painted an Iris years ago and was quite pleased with it, but gave it to my boss when I left work :(

8 Feb, 2013

Lol...so sorry Sheila...they are similar aren't they! :)

8 Feb, 2013

It's OK, I knew who you meant :) Maybe I'll change mine one day soon - when I can remember how . . . :))

Thank you, I will enjoy looking. I too love painting in watercolours especially on a winters evening. My subjects are mainly happy and laughing people. Certainly perks me up on a gloomy dark afternoon..:o)
I'm going to have a look at your website now..

26 Aug, 2020

Thank you, Nancy, for the link to your website - I have just had a look and it's lovely work. Not dissimilar to Janey's. I'm inspired to go back to watercolours again - in the non-gardening months!

Absolutely beautiful Nancy. I love the sea scapes with crashing waves, the force of the spray and energy, not easy I would think in watercolour.
I've a few paintings not finished Sheila, they always take me ages to complete. Mine are more like illustrations I think..
i agree Sheila, so inspiring..:))
