Taking Cuttings For SparklySocks

*Sparklysocks asked me for step by step instructions for taking cuttings from her Penstemons.

1 Choose a non flowering shoot 6-7inches long, and cut just below the bottom leaf junction

2 Remove the leaves carefully from the bottom upwards I removed three layers

3 Insert in compost in a pot either singly or using a larger pot you can the put four-6 cuttings depending on pot size

The cuttings in this pot are Ostospernums taken four weeks ago, you can also try rooting them in water [see Spritz’s Elephant Blog!

.

Hope you find this useful;0)*

Good blog, Pansypotter...

Ideal photos and clear explanations...

I wrote a blog 5th July 2009 :

"Cuttings Rooting in Rainwater" ...

where many members contributed photos and good advice in their comments, so Sparklysocks might like to look at that too.
I hope this helps. :o)

Go to a member's profile [ i.e. click on their photo ]

can you see that.. ?
... try sending me a short message if you want to test it out ...

I think this is a great way to help members who are new to gardening,Carole.I sometimes read things over and over, but if a pic accompanies the information,it seems so much easier
to understand..Good luck,Sparkly...:o)
