Goldsmith Seeds Spring Trials 2009

This week is the week when the seed company that I work for puts on a big flower event to show off how beautiful their seeds can grow. They’ve been working hard for weeks…no months to get the gardens/plants ready for the vendors or potential buyers to come see their beautiful plants. They invite people from companies from all over to come see what they can do and to sell their product. It’s a week long event and a lot of hard work and preparation goes into it. They wine and dine the guests and wow them with the beautiful colors of spring. They give tours of the of the showroom greenhouse and sell them on their plants. Two weekends after the Spring Trials they sell these plants to the public and donate the money to charity.
Yesterday after working with the preschoolers I went to the showroom greenhouse and spent about two hours taking photos of these beautiful plants. I will post some photos here and more with my regular photos, titled “Goldsmith Seeds Spring Trials”.

A harvest theme here…with rudbeckia and pansies.

Christmas theme… a flower for every season.

Verbena, begonia and ornamental grass.

Mixed colors of cyclamen.

The bottles of Corona in here made me chuckle :)

Wow Tracy , it looks like heaven ... you can see how much hard work has gone into making it perfect ... my husband does some trials work for Sygenta a seed company that imports plug plants into this country mostly from Holland ... Have you heard of them ?
He deals with the agricultural side ...sugar beet seed ...

The photos are lovely , a joy to look at . Thankyou :o)

Amy- I just burst out into laughter, lol!!! Syngenta just bought the seed company that I work for last year. It's a small, small world! They are in transition in taking it over...not sure if the name will change from Goldsmith Seeds to Syngenta or not. Too funny! Glad that you like the photos :)

LOL.. wow it really is a small world isn,t , my husband should be retired but Syngenta employs him for approx 40 days a year as a consultant . it suits him fine , it keeps him up to date with whats going on and in touch with friends ...
Isn,t it strange how these invisible threads draw us all together !
I,m off to bed as it,s very late here , I saw this and had to reply ... :o)
Night night sleep tight :o)

Glad that you enjoyed it Janey :) Jeff knows people in the nursery bizz and has been told that Goldsmith puts together some of the best displays around. Their plants are high quality, beautiful specimens and they know how to display their goods :) You'd think that I work for them of something...oh yeah I do ;~) I'm not in sales though...I'm very far removed from having anything to do with the beautiful plants that you see here. I only captured their beauty for future admiration and to share with all of you :)

Wonderful. I'm back to browse all your pages of goldsmith seed trial. Took me a long time to get here and read up. Soooo Beautiful! I love the swirl of cyclamen by the foxglove. Such rich color. And the corona pics are inspiring, blue and yellow. Wonderful. Its 50F and 2 ft of snow still to go away! I want it to go! :-) Thanks for posting this. :-)

Glad that you enjoyed it GT :) I liked the swiril of cyclamen as well. I hope that it starts to warm up for you. What are the high temps for Alaska? Sending you warm California wishes for some sunshine ;~)

We get up to 90F here in Fairbanks sometimes. Hottest and coldest in the state. :-) I just want the snow to finish off! I could have things out in a cold frame right now! :-) Thanks for the warm wishing.
