Lol! Well Done, guys! Here am I, "leafing" through the pics, and I see the new tab appear before my very eyes!

Many Thanks for this additional "tool". Thus far, I have got only 10,000 of the (now) well over 100,000 pics added into the GoYpedia (like the new name :-) ). Jacque must be even busier with her very long list of subjects. I know that she will agree with me, however, that it is great fun, a great way to see a lot of what is on GoY, and a very informative learning resource for ourselves, too. I would very much like to see other members join us in this "pursuit". Thank You very Much! :-))

I'd also like to see more pics with titles and/or tags; these help me a LOT. Also, I have to remember, with regard to fruit and veg, that many are known by different names in different countries, and that different countries are "enjoying" different seasons at the same time! Sometimes, I don't know what country, hemisphere, season, time of day I'm in, lol! Blogs and questions also yield a great deal of info, too, and look forward to more of these being "pointed out" to us.

I agree David when the Pics,Blogs,ect have Titles they come up in Our Search Bars which means we dont miss a thing when were not around :)

These are great improvements and will make the site even better :))

I've been able to update my Wagging blog. :o)

Okay I can see that if I go to post a new blog I have to state which category it goes in... how do the other GoYers then know which category it is in?

I'm asking because I only want to read the garden and nature/wildlife blogs

At the moment, as far as I can see, you can update old blogs, but not categorise them....

This evening, each time I tried to update my Wagging blog, I was prevented from doing so, and warned by red print to complete a non-existent category box... Lol.

but Ajay has removed that red warning....

Hi Ajay, I know everyone here is used to my slowness but I don't understand how this is going to work? What I mean is will we still be able to see what our favourite members are blogging and the photos they are posting on our homepage or are we going to have to search through all the blogs of a particular 'type' just to find out what one member is doing? Does this mean that when I turn my pc on I will no longer know what Lily2 or Spritzhenry have posted, am I going to have to scour through thousands of members just to find that Bob g or Indy haven't blogged today? Will Fluff disappear into the void along with Madperth (Hatter) and Maccrimmon?

I guess at the top of each blog it will say which category it is in.... the same as with photos which might for instance be under Yellow Roses... Not sure if that answers your question..Lol.

I just tried to nominate one of Gee19's photos for the pansy category, but was not able to do it. I guess Ajay is currently working to eliminate some bugs in the system. He'll have it sorted out soon.

That's interesting, Tt! I tried earlier to nominate a pic of pansies (to Jacque, who covers this one) and it wouldn't let me do so either. It did, however, allow me to do so with a garden pond pic straight after. I think that the guys at GoY are concentrating firstly on the huge number of pics, and the blogs and questions will be clearer soon.

I can add older blogs/questions, but only if they belong in one of my "pages", and am hoping that they all will be able to be nominated by everyone by clicking on a tab. Dawnsaunt, I'd like to see your lovely kingfisher blog featured on "British Native Birds" or whatever the exact page title is (Jacque covers this one) but, as has been said, we can't do right now. I think we'll just have to be a bit patient. This all materialised before my eyes just this morning whilst I was scrolling through pages of pics. I'll soon have learned enough to enter Mastermind, lol!

Hi Tt, can we try a wee experiment? I had your pic of the miniature yellow Iris (bottom row, page 1 of your pics gallery feautred on the "Irises" page of the ency (sorry, old name) - GoYpedia. Have just removed it. Can you click on that pic for me and click on the nominate for goypedia tab, to see if it works? I should then receive this nomination, and put it (back) on the page. If it works, your pic will once more have "Featured on Irises" to right of it. Ta muchly! - X

PS Specialist subject "chocolate" Can you be SERIOUS? I'd go into "meltdown", lol!

At the moment 9.40 pm... there is no nominate option on my iris photo, and I checked the map photos nearby and they don't have nominate options either, so maybe Ajay has disabled the system temporarily ?
..or maybe we can't nominate our own photos ?
I just looked at one of my fav. pics and that has a nominate option....:o)

Just tried to nominate a photo but came up with a page saying 'We've made a mistake ',so I will wait a couple of days till things get sorted.Good idea tho thanks Ajay :)

I got the "nominate" tab next to your iris pic, Tt, but, like Ian and Aster, got a message saying that something not quite right at the mo. Work in progress, methinks. 21.56.

Ian, nothing has changed yet. And, nothing will change in the way you use the site. So rest assured.

Once we have collected some classifications on the new blog posts we will look to let members choose to not see certain types of entries if they don't want. E.g. If you don't like the non-gardening blogs you would be able to stop those showing if you wanted.

I just tested the new system by suggesting Gee19's recent photo to be under Pansy in the GoYpedia, and it worked okay :o)

Pottygardener - just like the "like" system where you can't give yourself a "like" we thought it made sense to stick to the same for the "nominate".

glad ive seen this as i wondered what the new nominate icon was for, so now i know, good idea, but i like everyones pics lol so that GOYpedia is going to get pretty full heheh

Hi David sorry went to bed lol.Which photo did you think needed a category. I must look at the categories and do some nominating.
I suppose most of our favourites would be suitable for nomination,but very time consuming looking back through all those.

Not sure about your blog categories, Ajay - wrote one today that was about nature and wildlife and the weather and also plants/gardening - I'd have been hard put to choose a category, as it covered both plants/gardening and wildlife/nature - might need a "both" for those as well.

I'm now the editor for three new GoYpedia categories... and I am enjoying allocating the lovely GoY photos in these sections......

Wellies and Garden Footwear.

Pets ...e.g. budgies, bunnies, guinea pigs, tortoises.

and Flower Pot People... :o)
