New border -Part 2

Our new front border has made some progress since my last blog. The painted log edging has been erected….weed suppressing membrane laid…..and York slate spread. The two box plants left over from the border have been planted up and the pots painted with the same fence paint as the edging.
The small border near the front door has been planted up with some alpines and some species tulips. “tarda”. The right hand side border will be filled with assorted alpines too and some spreading plants such as phlox beside the edging to grow over it and soften the edges.

Hi Amblealice there must be a difference in the slate but it is still lovely. The house I mentioned their slate has a blueish tinge.
