Corona

Well, today was a day I won’t easily forget. I work in my local secondary school in my village and we were promptly sent home today as we’ve had a confirmed Corona case in our school. 🙄 My sons GCSE and A levels cancelled and we’re now self isolating. Got to dig out my gardening to do list now ….. although this is an uncertain and worrying time I will try to channel my worries into my gardening, weather permitting. I recently planted two trees, the liquidamber ‘slender silhouette’ and Cornus ’ controversa variegata’ and am looking forward to seeing them ‘wake up’ over spring…… wishing you all strength and courage during these uncertain times. Not sure what the future holds…..

all we can do is be sensible and come out the other side with the garden to help us along.
I was a senior school teacher and my former colleagues feel beleaguered and they are still in even though the students are not today.
hope you and the family stay safe.

Thank you all for your support, I realise that there are people out there with far worse problems and hope you didn’t find me self indulgent, just needed to vent! Thank you. 🙏

Oh! Amsterdam. We all have some kind of worry and we need to say it out loud.
Like you I plan to do a lot of work in the garden.
My first grandchild is due in May in Sweden. Luckily they live in rural Sweden with lots of land and fresh air.
It is all very worrying as most of my friends are over seventy.

Good luck Amsterdam. I hope you will stay well. I have spent the whole of today outdoors walking the dogs and gardening. I haven’t thought about the virus at all..just had a lovely day outdoors. Now I’m back inside watching the dreadful news. But you will find your gardening a great respite. I hope and pray that you stay well. X
