While my wife & I were at Huntingdon bus station this morning waiting for our daughter to arrive I went & took the photos below.

They are for a flower display about a Shakespeare play to be held at the end of June & beginning of July 2017 at the George Hotel in Huntingdon High Street. The hotel has a big interior patio with balconies around the first floor.

Shakespearian plays are put on here during the summer most years but this is the first year one of these plays has been “advertised” in this way.

“Desert Island Discs” display in Sebastopol gardens:

Here is another imaginative garden bed display here in Huntingdon this time commemorating 75 years of the BBC Radio 4 programme “Desert Island Discs”. This display is just a few minutes walk from Huntingdon railway station.

I’m afraid I didn’t take a photo of the display information placard at its foot. Even when I blow the photo up I still can’t make out enough to tell you what it says. Nevertheless in a few days time I will be close to it again & I will try & get a close up photo & if I do I’ll add it to this blog.

I don’t know if the gardens here really are called “Sebastopol gardens” but the replica cannon (in fibre glass) stands on a stone plinth with the word “Sebastopol” carved into it.

It most certainly does, Hywel! I think it's quite an imaginative display - it's made up of recycled materials for the most part, like old wooden pallets.

Yes, in the last couple of years our local Town Council has done several very imaginative displays. I took some photos to make up a similar blog last year but never did get around to doing one. As I still have the photos I must make up a blog to show everyone.

Last year the town won a Silver-Gilt medal from the Anglia In Bloom competition this year they are hoping for a Gold medal. I think they thoroughly deserve it as well!

I shall look forward to seeing your other blog Balcony. Well done to the town.
