Crocuses galore!
Some of you will have seen the photos I uploaded to my Photos Page, others perhaps not. I want to share with you the wonderful show the Crocuses are putting on during March, not even the snow could stop them!
Pansies & Crocuses in pots on the balcony railings as seen from outside on 2nd March:
Pansies & Crocuses buried in snow in troughs on balcony on 2nd-3rd March:
What a difference a week makes!
I’ll finish with a photo of the only trough, pot or tub that doesn’t have any Crocuses!
An error! I didn’t realize at the time of planting the Crocus corms that I had missed this trough out!

Thank you all for your comments! ? This is a scene that repeats itself year after year! At least the pansies seem to have survived this year, after many years when they died off for one reason or another & not realizing their potential in April - May.
I'm doubly pleased because not only have the survived & are now flowering but also because they are Ruffled Pansies & I have never grown anything like them before! ???
The Crocuses especially give great joy at the end of winter telling us the spring is about to spring! ???

They are such cheering little things aren't they. I love those delicate lilac ones 6 from the bottom. Mine didn't survive the Beast very well sad to say - never known them suffer like that before.

Does my heart good to see all those crocuses. So many colours. Ours all seem to be mauve!
A sure sign of Spring!

Thank you all once again for your comments! ?
Sorry to hear that yours didn't survive the "Beast from the East"! ? Mine are pretty exposed but perhaps they were behind in comparison with yours Perhaps your weather was worse than what we had. But whatever the reason I hope they do much better for you next year!
I was a little worried I wasn't going to get any blue ones this year as the yellows, creams & even whites seemed to be all I was going to get! At last lots of them opened & I was so pleased to see them! In a dark blue ceramic pot I have lots of Hyacinths I also put some Crocuses in it - by sheer coincidence they have all turned out to be blue! As I only ever plant mixed colours I can never tell what colour they will turn out to be until the day the flowers open!
Crocuses are such wonderful little plants, Dawn, & bring such a welcome note of colour after months of dismal weather & dark days & such long nights!
Lincs, I'll upload a picture of our balcony as seen from the street so you can appreciate it better.
Thank you, Amy, but the credit belongs to the Crocuses - not to me!? I don't do anything more than put them in the pots & let them get on with it! ?
Strange the way some plants behave, Eirlys, my blue ones started to flower later than the other colours & I thought I wasn't going to get any!
All the photos in my blog above have open flowers but today I took lots of photos of them closed up & with rain drops on them! A first for me!
