Just wishing all my GOY friends a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!
I thought I’d share more views of some fabulous Xmas light displays that are becoming all the rage downunder.

I’d like to also share my version of Rum Balls. I could never stand the taste of rum, so here’s …
Bernie’s Bonny Bailey Balls!
(think I need to work on the name of this recipe!)
1 cup (100g) plain sweet biscuit crumbs
(I used ‘Nice’ biscuits)
½ cup coconut
½ cup icing sugar mixture
1 tablespoon cocoa
¼ cup sultanas, chopped (I used slivered almonds, crushed, because I don’t like sultanas much!)
¼ cup Irish cream liqueur
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon honey
1/3 cup of chocolate sprinkles
1/3 cup coconut, extra
Combine biscuit crumbs, coconut, sifted icing sugar, cocoa and sultanas or almonds in bowl. Stir in liqueur, water and honey; mix well.
(Have a little tipple to make it more fun!)
Roll 2 level teaspoons of mixture into ball; repeat with remaining mixture.
(Hmmm … my, that little tipple was delicious, so have another!)
Divide into 2 batches. Roll one batch in chocolate sprinkles and the other in the extra coconut.
Refrigerate for several hours.
Makes 35 little ones (Apparently! Somehow there never seems to be 35 left when it comes time to share!)

oh wow that is SO clever!!
i love the recipe ~ not too sure i will be able to say what they are called after i have finished making them and im quite sure there wont be 35 left!!

At least the Christmas card is more original than those we see here in the UK! :-))
Those videos of the lights are fantastic, never seen anything quite like it before! A few people around here do displays but they look nothing at all like these you've shown us! They must cost a small fortune to install & run!

Amazing light displays, Bern - Many Thanks for the links. Also, I have to make these truffles for my Mum, as she just loves Baileys, or any Irish cream liqueur. This Christmas, as always, I made them with marsala laced with coffee (bought in a bottle from an Italian deli).

Thanks Bernie - trust the your Christmas wasn't dampened by the torrents and your getting a little dryer now? Very windy here so the ground is drying out quickly and amazingly no plant damage! =)

Spectacular lights! But it would drive me crazy having all those flashing around my home - not to mention the Electricity fat cats rubbing their hands with glee! In this region things are very quiet for Christmas - your Council lights depend on the size of your village: We are so small we don't even register! A larger village along the valley road has four sets of lights strung across the road; the smaller village only deserves one set! We see the occasional Santa climbing a rope ladder up a casa wall and the occasional Christmas tree - but they are few and far between. I have to say I prefer the 'less is more' approach. Happy Christmas! :o)
