simply beautiful. I must do this with rhodos, but oh is fed up of all the pots. and where would I put them after flowering .. mmmmm need to think about this. :o)

These are simply beautiful! I have a few rhodo's, the small ones, they lived in pots until they got a bit straggly (I know my fault!) then they went in the garden. I've never been a fan of the big ones - non-native (I know, most things are) too open for use in nesting for the birds, poison the ground underneath and take up a lot of room - but when they are in flower - Wow!
The ones on the decking certainly look at home with the Acers, that snapshot is as good as any in the show gardens at Chelsea.

Honeysuckle
Praise indeed the inspiration many years ago was visiting Exbury and other gardens and nurseries in the New Forest,in fact quite a few of the established ones were brought back from that area ,Chapels and McPennys were favorite hunting grounds, at that time I had two young Son's
and often a toss up whether I left them behind to get more plants in the car.
I am still not sure if I made the right decision.lol
Now Jamie is a different thing would have always found a place for him but of course he was not borne then.

A wonderful garden and a fantastic collection of Rhodies, I see you have some very beautiful Acers too, just the kind of garden I would love to stroll around ;0))

This is a special time for rhodys isnt it. Its lovely to see so much colour. I find that (like Grayson Perry on Chelsea last night) as I get older every spring is more precios and more of a relief. I have definitely felt that this spring, probably more because we had such a terrible summer last year. But whatever the reason, I really enjoyed your blog Brian.

Absolutely lovely. I like the ferns too.

Feverfew
ferns grow wild all over the garden and I love them, besides the ones I have introduced there are also several in the garden which appear to have hybridized being similar but not the same as others close by

Oh Brian it looks fabulous. Per usual I have two or three weeks to wait for my plants to catch up. I know, I know, I will still have them when yours have gone over. :0)
