Just as Toto submitted details of a robin landing in his hand at work this little fella landed in mine fed up by being mugged for mealworms by blackbirds he decided to take matters of out my hands !

He was in no rush as he sourced the biggest .

Took his pick..

Then sat a while to finish it. What a star ,, think he deserves a big hand.

My robin doesnt seem to want me anymore :-((
I hope he returns when the weather turns colder.
They are so light Morgana, you can hardly feel their weight on your hand, such a special almost surreal feeling.

What a wonderful experience and such a privilege too. Ours seem to have forsaken us too since nesting Dawnsaunt, we only see them occasionally now. How lucky to have the camera handy too.

16 Aug, 2009

I've just been to the spot where my tame robin lives but no sign of him, I left him some meal worms anyway. Catching them on camera is the hardest part.

16 Aug, 2009

Well Rocky..you made a good choice there..you won't get hungry..your foster mum /dad will take good care of you...
well done Jane and Ray,thanks for sharing

Well done.

Hi Dawn and Lily...sure as you say when weather turns again and food is scarce they will be back ! Ever feel used ? Lol
Thanks Deida and Oddbillie...certainly will keep those mealworms coming !
Morgana...words cannot explain the feeling.Dawn knows...she first on GoY to post a pic of her robin.!

16 Aug, 2009

I hope mine will be back so he/she can use me again, lol.
I agree Ray, its an amazing feeling that I will never forget.

16 Aug, 2009

You had to go one better didn't you. Mine one touched down on my hand, grabbed a mealworm and took off straight away. Wonderful experience nonetheless.
I hope yours continues to come back for you. Great pics.

17 Aug, 2009

Dawn...he/she will be am sure.
Toto...think its because he is only a fledgling and has not yet learned to be wary.Has grown up in our garden and have been feeding him since day one ! Keep up with feeding yours and sure will become even tamer!

17 Aug, 2009

We are all so lucky to have them around us :-)

17 Aug, 2009

You're very brave. If that came near me I'd die lol.

17 Aug, 2009

Agree Dawn...the best things in life are free !

17 Aug, 2009

Hywel LOL...its a baby robin...not a Pteradactyl dinosaur !

17 Aug, 2009

Absolutely BB!
Hywel, you make me laugh.

17 Aug, 2009

Oh yes...belly laughs all round Thanks Hywel !

17 Aug, 2009

I wouldn't mind a penta-- .... whatever, but birds I can't abide sorry. Well some don't like snakes and there's nothing wrong with them :o)

17 Aug, 2009

I dont like snakes Hywel, lol. Well I do just as long as they sliver near me.

17 Aug, 2009

Why do I make you laugh just because I have a phobia. You wait until I find something that makes your skin crawl and I will laugh at you !

17 Aug, 2009

You have Hywel ... snakes and Milky's and Toto's slow worms, whooooo

17 Aug, 2009

I meant BB aswell.

17 Aug, 2009

Oh right Hywel .... we'll have to await his response.

17 Aug, 2009

Oh Hywel..a Pteradactyl is a huge flying dinosaur with about a 15 foot wing span !Wouldnt so much have perched on you as swallowed you whole.! Ill stick with baby robins Lol.
As for phobias Hywel am claustrophobic...my biggest fear is being locked in Totos shed with him and his nurse ! Lol

17 Aug, 2009

lol - I don't think I'd like that either.
Anyway I can look at a pteradactyl but anything with fethers or beaks I can't stand.

17 Aug, 2009

Relax Hywel they are extinct ! Lol.Hope you can one day overcome your phobia.!

17 Aug, 2009

I know I told you that you have a way with" the birds", Ray, and can get them to eat" from the palm of your hand", lol! But, to use a wee, defenceless Robin as a stand-in!....Well, I mean, of all the underhand..... was looking for some real tips, LOL!

Fab blog and pics, as always - Brill!!!!!!! :-)

20 Aug, 2009

Oh David..its only the feathered variety nowadays ! Suggest you try the likes of George Clooney for the real tips ! LOL ! Glad you enjoyed !
