NICE BITS OF MY GARDEN FRIDAY PLUS ORGY:-)

Most of my garden’s a mess, I have been working on it, but it’s not fit to be seen. This is the only bit that’s ok:-)

This is Lophomyrtus Magic Dragon in close up. It survived through the terrible winter/spring of 2012/13 (as did the pieris Pink Delight) and is always lovely and colourful and neat too it’s colour changes slightly through the season.

The tall hellebore is Tutu, the smaller ones on the left of it are seedlings I was given by Tetrarch a few years ago when Floribunda, Stickitoffee and I visited her in Bristol. I bravely went by coach from Brum. This is the first year they’ve flowered. It would be lovely to hear from her again, I hope she is ok.

The euphorbia is Burrows Silver, it’s been in three years or so, I love it.

When I look out of my kitchen window, my little pond is full of frogs, I’ve counted about fifty! Unfortunately, each time I open the kitchen door to take their photo, lots disappear under the water, the bolder ones carry on what they’re doing without a trace of shame:-)

There’s always the one popular girl at the party who attracts all the men …. …. unfortunately it was never me:-( This girl seems to have that ‘je ne sais quoi’ :-)

This brave pink is dianthus memories.

Off to get OH up now if I can:-)

I've really fallen in love with Helleborus, but I've not come across yours before. Your so lucky with your frogs (less slugs and snails to contend with) we had one solitary frog last year, but discovered 2 juveniles when we cleaned the pump and so forth about a month ago. Sadly, no frog spawn to date. I've taken a sneaky look at your garden BA and it's certainly not a mess.

Hi Waddy, I don't have any fish in mine now and it's full of elodea and duck weed, but I think the tadpoles eat the duckweed. I did start pulling out the weed some days ago, but found lots of dainty little red water snails in it, so put it back:-)

Sandra, the rest is a mess, should look alright in a few weeks though. I wonder where all the frogs came from? We always have a lot, but this time they cover almost the whole surface, talk about the siren call! :-)

Hi Pam, here the spawn and tadpoles get gobbled by magpies, but they'll have a hard time seeing them under all the weed. I don't know why, but I thought ducks were vegetarian, now I find they're partial to meaty snacks:-(

Ba as always you are being far too modest! I am sure that the rest of your garden is just as lovely as this!

Mind you I don't like frogs and toads so I am glad that most of your frogs didn't hang around to pose!!

Your little corner looks fab Ba....lovely colours there, I wish Pieris would like my garden.... I could watch your frogs all day long, now they would love my garden with it's amazing collection of slugs and snails. Hope you got your OH up, where was he then, down in the cellar??....:))

Simples:-) you'd be surprised were my OH gets to lol:-)

I prefer frogs to toads but still prefer not to look too closely at their 'cute' little faces!!

When I was a child I had pet toads, the biggest one was Cuthbert (no idea why I called him that) he used to come in and watch tele with me. I always had to keep my hands wet when I held him though so he didn't dry out :-)
