Hidden Highlights of December (II) with appologies to Terra!

Meanwhile, at the other end of the country, our garden was looking slightly different yesterday.

The white heather was looking very white

The winter jasmine was very winterish

And the pet osprey was having problems finding his fish

We will find out just how hardy the mini cyclamen are – no five year guarantee here

and the neighbours rose looks quite festive

whilst the mahonia just thugs it out.
It is slightly milder now and the snow has stopped. We are promised gales for the next couple of days so that should shift the snow. Is that it for this winter …..?

Terra, I love your blogs but don't often comment; or press the like button, on any blogs either.

Bulbaholic, Is that a Cordyline to the left of the Osprey? It almost looks like a Yucca elata, but I would have thought the UK to be too wet for them.

We have snow also, here in Elgin, though its melting a bit now, hope we dont get too much this winter, last year was so hard. Like the spiky plant to the left of the Osprey as well.

Lovely photo`s Mr B, I really don`t mind admiring it on here, we have high winds today and a couple of rain showers, doesn`t look as nice but easier on the travellers...

You're closer to it that I've been so far! We've only seen the nasty stuff on the high peaks around us - nothing in the village ..... yet! Love your Osprey!

The plant to the left of the osprey is an Aciphylla. A New Zealand plant with very hard, stiff and spikey leaves. You don't want to get too personal with it! It is extremely hardy and we have had this for many years.

I love the white stuff, but can understand why some do not like it.

I like to watch it falling from my window standing by the radiator, and love looking at it freshly fallen before anyone disturbs it

Lovely pictures MB.

Thanks, Bulba! I thought it was a bit stiff for a Yucca. Growing in your territory, and from New Zealand, it is probably not heat tolerant enough for the low desert, but I may want to check it out for my customers in higher elevations. : )
....Wow! That's got to be the strangest Parsley relative that I have yet encountered!

Your pictures actually made me shiver.......keep it up there please, we had enough last year to last a lifetime. We did not move to the South for the snow!!
