Mirabilis Seeds.

I have lots of seeds of this White Mirabilis, and if anyone would like a few please PM me your name and address and I will get them off to you. My plant is about 3 ft tall, and has been flowering all summer. Other colours are about, but I don’t have them.

Kind offer Cinders...I've tried to grow this beauty before but we just don't have the weather for it...by the time it starts to flower it's october! cup and saucer vine is the same! Keith sent me Rhodochiton this year and it never did much either....just have to accept the limitations of the scottish climate....sigh!

Yes Hywel, there are other colours, but I gave most of them away after growing them and was left with only the one and it turned out to be white. Should have kept more as they have made a good show this year, but at the time didnt have room for them.

They grow like weeds here. Very hardy, they don't even mind if you don't water them much. I got a few seeds from a plant up on one of my local parks that use to have a house on it. Took them home planted them and they are the easiest flower to grow in the garden. Even in part shade. They get a bit shabby around this time of year so I cut them back and they pop right back up the next year. The seeds spread like mad though, but not so much I can't keep on top of it.
I have the pink. I'd send you some seeds but not sure of the rules of sending them over seas. I like the white.
Also know as 4 O'Clocks.

Thats interesting, perhaps I'll try cutting mine back then and see if it survives the winter. Maybe give it a little protection, as I have plenty more seeds for next year anyhow.

The roots of a few year old plant is much like a sweet potato. So just put a pile of mulch or hay or anything like that on top mark the spot and I'm sure it will bounce back.
Let me know.

Am I too late Cinders?? will PM you . . .

I've grown Mirabilis this year, but mine are multi-coloured: pink, yellow and red, but I'd love some white if you have any left. They're also known as the 4 o'c flower, as that's when they open! I had no idea that they could be kept from year to year, so will definitely try that with mine. And if I manage to collect any seed will send you some.
