Thank you both. The thing is, I don't think they get very many entries, which I feel may be because for the previous seven or eight years the same person won. But if we don't enter it there is not going to be a show.

Oh, it's all just beautiful and perfectly kept. I know what you mean, I would be embarrassed if I kept winning it, but as you say....if you don't enter.....and they need you to set the standard. One day someone will come along and go one better...but until then...you are definitely a winner!!

Oh Karen, you are so kind. The fleece is covering my blueberry. They are just ripening and its a battle between me and the birds, so I am keeping it covered for the moment. The table and chairs were what I bought when my mum died, need a coat of paint now.

Ah yes! I have to pick the strawbs before they are ripe, and ripen them on the windowsill! The blueberries aren't colouring up quite yet here.

Sylvia, if those judges weren't impressed this morning then they don't know a good garden when they see one! It certainly gets my vote for first prize. It's 12.20 now and far too hot for me to go outside so I'm playing on GoY for a while. Did you get the thunderstorm through the night? Barely any rain but lots of heavy thunder ......

Hello Shirley, yes we did get the storm last night. Its getting pretty warm now. The judges have been, but I won't know what they thought until next Saturday at the Show. thanks for your kind comments. I am just taking a break now from sorting plants etc for the Country Market which is tomorrow, and then we have a stall at the Show next week as well. There is also a Car Boot Sale there that my sister wants me to sort a few things for, as she and her granddaughter are hoping to do, so chance for a bit of a clear out this week ! Hope things are ok with you and Michael.

Absolutely beautiful and all looking so healthy. What a lot of work you do to keep it so pristine. 1st prize again no doubt and well deserved too :-)

Thank you Jane and Nanjo. The difference since judging day is unbelievable (in my eyes anyway) . Rain has beat everything about and knocked off flowers. Just glad the judging wasn't this week.

Thanks for asking Loosestrife. I didn't win, but I don't know how close I was to it as they only announce the winner. I am happy though, as I have won it twice, and its nice that someone else has it I feel. There was one lady that won it about eight times in a row and I think it stops people from entering as they feel they don't have a chance. It was a lovely day on the Flower Show day, and I was on a stall selling plants in full sun !! I enjoyed the day though, as all my family came and they all came and they all came back to me afterwards and we had tea in the garden. So that made everything worth while.

Well, Cinderella, as far as I am concerned, you are First Prize.

Well they do say winning isn't everything. The winner's garden must have been pretty spectacular if it was better than yours.

You are very kind, thank you. Thing is, you don't know what the judges are looking for. Some like cottage gardens, others like the formal.
