My garden 2016

Hi everyone, As some of you may know, I haven’t been on the site for a long time, for various reasons, but having been prompted by Shirley tulip, thought I had better pay a visit, so here are a few pics of my garden 2016. I am not able to do as much gardening as I used to, but fortunately most of it just needs tidying these days. The first picture is a sunflower given to me, that I was told was ‘dwarf’, hence has been planted in wrong place !

Hello dear Cinders! Your garden is looking amazing...you must have designed it so well for it to look this good when you aren't able to do as much work in it as you used to. It really looks beautiful :) Welcome back!

Hello Karen, how lovely to hear from you. I don't know what happened to the photos, some are on their side. I did this blog from my ipad (all this new technology I don't understand), have only just realised some are the wrong way up ! Thanks for your lovely comments, I took a peek at a few of your garden, my word its maturing beautifully isn't it.

Thanks so much...yes, it's doing well thanks...it's hard work though. Eventually I shall have to make it easier to look after like yours. :)

Hi cinders, lovely to hear from you. your garden is looking very good. mine is not too good at the moment. bindweed and couch grass have taken hold in 2 borders. but as I am 'retired' from31st August I wont have any excuse not to try and fettle it.

Hi Stera, thanks, after 30 years in this garden, I probably should have it almost right, but can still see room for improvement.
Seaburn well done on almost reaching retirement. I do hope you enjoy it. No excuses then, but at least you will have more time, hopefully.

IT was lovely to see your name on 'my list' again! Your garden is a picture as always and looks really pretty.
I love the combination of plants in the last photo.

Oops, sorry bout that, out of practice !?
Hello Wildrose, lovely to hear from you, the silver cineraria was in the pot from the winter display and still looked good so I planted the surfinia in with it, just one plant, and it has rewarded me.

Thank you Sandra, I miss not being able to do so much this year, but it doesn't seem to mind !

Sylvia, lovely to see some shots of your pretty garden again! Lots of folk have found their photos appear sideways, there have been blogs & questions on it, but no good asking me, the total technophobe.

I do like your garden path of circles, really attractive and you have loads of colour in the garden too. :o))

Thanks Shirley, I think it may be that I used my iPad to put the pics on, although some are the right way up, they are OK on there, but on the laptop they are not. Doesn't make sense.
Those circles have been down a long time now, we decided to curve the whole path too.

I've been missing for several periods myself recently, so I know how you feel.
It's nice to hear from you again :)

Hi Dotty, nice to hear from you too. Thank you. Your garden is also looking good. I often think about my visit a few years ago with Flori. It was really lovely to meet up with you all. I shall pop in from time to time to see what everyone is up to, and probably add a photo or two.

Your garden looks beautiful Cinderella, you have given me some ideas for my new garden when I move in a few weeks time. Not being as young as I was I am going to make it much easier for myself when I plan it. Thank you.

Thank you Callie, I find shrubs and perennial plants are ideal if you are not able to garden as you would like, as once they are in they don't need a lot of attention and will serve you well. Just need keeping in trim sometimes.

Thank you Cinderella, I think that's what I will keep to,shrubs and perennials, I will let you know how I get on.

So colourful. So tidy!

We don't have much of the former though the Alstroemerias are coming into their own now. And we certainly have areas that are not tidy!

Really envy you your garden.

Thank you Eirlys, it is not as tidy as I would like, but it serves me well, and although mainly flowers and shrubs, I do have a veg patch for my runner beans, carrots and shallots. Pigeons are my bugbear at the moment !

Nice to see you Cinders, I too am sadly lacking with my Goy input this year for various reasons but its good to see old gardening friends popping up again, changing to perennials a few years ago has been my saving grace lately, as said so much easier to care for when one cannot do some jobs without suffering, lol..
Lovely photo's Cinders...

Hi Lincslass, nice to see you too. Thanks for comments re garden photos, I tend to go out and do a bit for half hour then in for a sit down for half hour, then back again. Can't leave it alone, but can't get stuck in like I used to. Anyway, mustn't grumble, lots worse off than me

Thats right Cinders, I wasn't able to do much last year at all, so this year has been extra hard, not helped by the fact that the weather was against us for such a long time, all that rain made the earth pack solid in places, the joys of clay soil, so I have been sorting it in easy stages, think I'm back on top of it now thank goodness, as you say many worse off so I thank my lucky stars I'm back gardening even if it does take me longer....

Learning to take things easier is not easy is it girls....little and often seems to be the way for me too. I never realised how much raised beds would help keep me gardening..
