Yes - and couldn't tame him unfortunatley

You know I've often worried about tiny species of animals, their little organs are so wee and intricate...We have a Button Quail, and she is still as skitty as the day we got her...no matter how tentatively we approach her, she does a wall of death, feathers everywhere...and we've had her three years...

Arrh they are so cute Sue, i love little Nutella, i do miss my guinea pigs, what with their squeaking in the mornings when they could hear me coming to get them. My mother has got a old one, hes grey and doesnt do much! but i do think they make lovely pets for children and adults actually:-)) keep us updated with them:-)

Of course I will...I love them, they're funny and I'm trying to get a pic of them both, two faces at the bars of the Cage, they look so cute...but they move everytime I get set up...
I want OH to make a big home for them on two levels, so plenty of room...he says he will...
I love their greeting too when they hear or see you...
How old is your Mums old boy Dawn...!!

shes had him 7 years, but im not sure how long they live, my guinea pigs were 6 or 7 years old when they died. I think my mums could be older than 7 actually, she seems to have had him for years and years, hes probably 17 actually!

Nutella is little darling, isn´t she, Sue? :) She has very nice -fluffy- coat. Do you teach her swimming? :))

Paul@when was it when another hamster died? Maybe there is no need to say you that, but animals realize death of their mates in cage. They are often sad for several days, or shocked. I told you, when I saw Snowball - he did not have happy expression on his little face. Buy him another friend!!!

Morning everyone....
Dawn I hope they live long, I'm very attached to them already...and if we give them the extra room and plenty of love and nourishing food...they hopefully, will have a good life...
Hi Kat, no I haven't done anything with Nutella, except stroke her, and get to know her...but I agree she's a little darling...
It's true what you say, tho our Cats weren't close as such, it affected two of them, when we lost Sweetie...

Hello Crissue,
do not worry, just keep them away from cat´s "toilets" and take care for their clean cage. That is what you already do, I see. As I told you, I have two matusalems old 8 and 9 years and still functioning, although half-blind and after stroke. Only they do not whistle so much, as when they were young :)

Hi Kat,
aww 8 & 9 years bless them...I was glad I got Honey, I fell for her as soon as I saw her, and then Nutella came along, and it sort of sealed the package....:o))) They love a clean Cage, Kat, you can see the way they inspect everything, and stretch out on their tummies, which they love to do...When OH makes their new home, I would like a feeding table on the higher level, and room to stretch out, and down below, for running and exercising, they love to run you know....
I love their greeting when they hear you or see you, it's great...dear little souls...they make ideal pets for Adults & Kids lol...

Good morning, Crissue, Mine do not greet me anymore. They are too old :)
28 May, 2012
Morning Kat, aww bless them...they're enjoying their retirement lol....
My two get so excited, they skip about, so amusing to watch them...
29 May, 2012
:) I remember those times :)))
29 May, 2012
Hi Kat, did they ever use their food bowl as a toy...After tipping the food bowl upside down, Honey pushes it and pulls it, runs around it, then sticks her head under it...they then spend ages picking up their mix off the the floor...Guinea Pigs seems to be adept at amusing themselves...:o)))

Lovely little things aren't they...did you have a male or did you buy both together? A good few years ago we had a weekend break in an oast house with my OH's family and visited a little petting zoo. They had packs of guinea pigs running around free and wild:-)

Aww that's a nice story Ba...
No it was funny, we bought Honey, and a few weeks later, she gave birth to Nutella...so we were quite thrilled really, especially as she is a girl...and they get along together...Well I think Guinea Pigs are sociable animals anyway...happy to live in groups...
