Garden At Christmas

I have never known the garden to be like it is at this time of year before. I think it was Christmas 2009 when it was -15 here on Christmas Day.
I had a wander today as the sun shone for the first time for what seems ages.
The Cornus are invaluable in the winter.
All the leaves are off the trees in the woodland.
A few primula are beginning to flower.
Prunus × subhirtella ‘Autumnalis’ (autumn cherry) gets better each year.
Viburnum × bodnantense ‘Dawn’ has bee flowering for a few weeks now and Viburnum davidii is coming into bud.
Hamamelis mollis is just coming into flower.
There are other bits and bobs of interest ….

It is weird and freaky weather....a bit colder here today, so feeling normal-ish now. Love those chinese lantern skeletons :) Happy Christmas!

Merry Christmas Dawn... love the chinese lanterns and the colours on your cornus are amazing. So lovely to get a bit of sun...we had a bit today too..:-)

Thank you Dawn A Merry Christmas to you and your family , I never tire of seeing the beautiful colours of the Cornus against your lake reflected in the water , fabulous ,my Hamamelis has a few flowers but is still a small shrub ... x
