We had our fair share!

Well the snow was forecast and it came all day Sunday. Usual disruption has followed with school closures and awful driving conditions. Today at 6.30am it was -10, I’m hoping the layer of snow has protected the plants.

I know Hywel, I'm not a fan, especially if travelling is involved. It's raining now phew so hopefully on its way out. I thought it would reach you too so I'm pleased it didn't.

When it comes from the north we don't get much here Dawn. The Brecon Beacons act as a barrier :)
I'm glad to know it's clearing for you.

Bracknell didn't really get any either. It snowed half-heartedly on Sunday morning but the roads and pavements were clear by nightfall. Down to -5C last night.

we didn't get much laying but greenhouse was showing -5c yesterday. rained a lot last evening and there is a layer of water on top of the ice on the pond. but it is much milder today.
plants will be really snug under the snow.

I feel for you. I was in the garden and saw about 3 snowflakes literally.

It looks more beautiful than it feels.

Lovely pics but I'm glad we only got rain here!

We had another flurry last night, I want it to go now, it's at that patchy stage, Shropshire was hit, Hywel, the Brecon beacons did a good job for you, one of our sites at work had it bad, Tring in Hertfordshire.

NY got hit overnight and woke up this morning to 'whiteout' conditions.

Nope, nothing in Bracknell. Still cold but managed to do a little bit outside this afternoon.

No snow here Dawn, in our part of the South, just patchy blue sky and a keen wind.
Greenhouse plants are protected at night: the others have to take their chance.
From my family home, Hywel, there was a wonderful view of the Brecon Beacons and Mynydd Du (the Black Mountain) when they were covered in snow. Lovely to look at but treacherous.

Lovely pictures - so peaceful - we had 12cm here in our part of Shropshire and -13 C at Shawbury about 10 miles from us - the snow has gone today leaving a thin coating of ice - which is proving a hazard - fleece on in the green house and the heater - oh my !!

Oh Eirlys, mentioning the Black Mountains takes me right back.I remember pony tracking up there, and on one occasion sitting on a damp pony eating damp sandwiches.

Oh Dawn, how depressing ... I hope it doesn't last very long for you, and I hope your plants are all right after those low temperatures.
We only had a light dusting on the highest hilltops, but it's gone now.
Keep safe and warm :)
