I have sometimes wondered - did you buy the property with the lake there already or did you make it? It certainly looks as if its been there for ever.

Hi Stera, the Christmas rose is very happy this year. We created the pond and planted the woodland about 16 years ago, it was just a field, I will do a pond dig blog soon, oh dear, what a mess it made.

Even cleaning out a small pond makes a terrible mess, can't imagine how much soil you got making your pond. Did you create a mountain with your pond spoil?

Well it all looks great to me. Love your "pond" (looks like a lake).

Siris, we have a big island, that got rid of quite a lot, then the two paths leading to the island took more.

It is such a serene setting and must bring you so much peace and contentment.
