Lucky, lucky, lucky

Having been reading all about the flooding in France I wondered this morning if I was going to be in for a bit of the same. Thunder, dark and rain. But hey presto about an hour later the sky cleared a bit and even Mr sun poked his head out for a while. The rain has held off and I’ve managed to get a good start on tidying the garden which has been a tad neglected of late. Front garden weeded, lawn edged, peonies and roses deadheaded, bedding plants in, rosemary beetles squished, lily beetle larvae removed. Yuk! Found a huge ants nest in the bag of potting compost in the greenhouse that I was going to use for my tubs in the back garden. That was rapidly jettisoned and then off to buy a new bag! Tubs now planted up without ants. Only the back garden borders to sort out now…

Thank you for the really lovely comments. It's now really humid here Karen and I think we may be in for storms later. Yes, I have worked hard, but I feel much for it! Ants! Don't talk to me about them. Whilst we were away last week, we had an infestation of the little blighters in the caravan - all over the bed!!!!
Thank you Scotkat. I'm honoured.

Neglected? Completely the opposite. Very beautiful tidy garden. The weather in your part of the world is going to be very wet according to my satellite site. I hope it wan't cause any damage to your plants. Keep us informed.

Phew, glad you missed the awful rain. As for a neglected garden...are you kidding? The whole of your garden looks fantastic!

What a lovely garden Digginfit. Very neat and tidy. Your hard work shows. I particularly like the red Rose and lavender combo.

Thank you very much Tuesday. The rose was only planted last year so I'm looking forward to it growing some more.

Phew...thank goodness, Digginfit. It sounded to be awful there this morning and, when I checked the metéo, the French/Belgian border looked pretty grim.
You must have worked hard today...that garden doesn't look as if it had been neglected...it looks quite the opposite...cared for and lovely!
PS...I hate ants!
