After reading Sanbaz’s blog about Green tomato chutney I thought I would have a go.It just so happens that a few days after reading her blog someone gave me 3 lbs of tomatoes that were ripe and they were sick of them,so I found a recipe for spicy tomato chutney and filled three jars and a little over as a taster,
delicious!
Since then had another 2lb given too me which are not quite as ripe,think I will have a go at making tomato and apple chutney with these.

It does seem lots of us have enjoyed a tomato "glut" this year, I have made enough tomato soup to keep a soup kitchen going for a month!! Well done with yours Dick

I love cooking,which is just as well,I do most of it.
I haven't had the time to make much soup this year Dido, although one of the last batches I made was tomato and butternut squash which had plenty of texture, turned out quite yummy and very warming for the winter night work shifts.I best get making some more soon before winter really sets in.
