Take a Walk Around my Garden with me

June has arrived with all the glory of Summer. The days are hot, the beach is steps away so we swim every afternoon a bit chilly to go in, but once in, it is lovely. We have had temp. of 30C & loving it.

So follow me around in my walk around the garden, please excuse me if I am not on first name basis with the Latin names.

The lovely 2 Clematis in my garden, which I only know the one of "Duchess of Edinburgh (the white one) but, the blue/purple one I do not know. I bought it years ago in a combo box from Costco & did not keep the name of the latter, so maybe one of the Goy members can assist me in this.

The poppies this year are incredible, even though these were suppose to be white, I will live with this gorgeous shade of pink.

My lovely Abutelon (flowering Maple) survived the harsh Winter we experienced, a delight in the garden. I am “slipping” a few from this plant for friends.

The other tree I am in love with is my Moroccan Broom, its flowers are opening way on top this year, but a lot more to come from the bottom up. The fragrance from this lovely specimen is a treat, not a good photo, but you can still get my “drift”.

My specie Day lilies are blooming and a treat to have, they bloom for almost for 2 mnths. solid. This one is Dumotieri a plant worth your while.

I wanted to show you this lovely bright Zinnia in one of my summer flowering pots, such a bright beauty I could not resist it.

My Veggie garden, where the peas are exploding & a lovely Tiffiny rose Next to it.
Thanks for walking along, now let’s kick back & just enjoy our gardens that keeps us healthy & “grounded.”

It is Louise1, it is gorgeous and I am a gardening "nut" I love my garden & the little island we R on is such a lovely place for gardens. We R a zone 7, but flirt with zone 8, got "burned this Winter. Hard conditions for this area. 7 days of temp. below -9 yikessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely walk, Doon! I was surprised that you could grow all those things in Canada! As you live on an island, like I do, (though somewhat bigger than yours I imagine! Lol!), the sea will help to keep it a little warmer in winter & a little cooler in summer.

The Moroccan Broom looks very much like a plant I sometimes saw when I lived in Spain. I didn't know its name then. I see it is also called the Pineapple Broom. A very pretty small tree.

With all the pots & buckets & tubs you have in the last picture, it reminds me of my balcony!

The Zinnia IS lovely as well as the rose & the Clematis & ...

Hello Balcony, yup that is exactly the plant, Pineapple Broom
I guess original from Morocco, thus the name & then in Spain, I guess a natural progression.(Moorish) We were all shocked last Winter to get temps. below minus, but it seldom occurs. We R a zone 7 flirting with 8. What R U??
My Pineapple broom is huge. I have tried taking cutting to no avail. Every one wants a piece, but no success.
Mikec, I actuall got cuttings from my Abutelon (Flowering maple) this year, so will take more this Fall. It is a beauty. Has been in bloom for a month. My white one I transplanted, and at the moment it is furious with me, so I am very kind to it right now & begging it for forgiveness.Lol.
Oh well live 7 learn.

Usually your big "bible" for plants will show you a world map & there lies the secret to your zone. I bet you R a zone 7 as well.
