Nature's clashing colours

It never fails to surprise me that in a garden colours tone so well together, In a garment the clash would be dreadful.
At the moment our Spring garden, like so many others here, is a blaze of colour.

That's amazing Eirlys! You have some beautiful colours and as you say they don't look out of place when they're flowers. Your top picture could almost be a forest glade with towering Rhodo's growing under the trees.

yes I agree Eirlys. the maxim 'red and green should never be seen' for wearing separates is ridiculous when mother nature does it all the time.
lots of wonderful plants mingling beautifully.

I've always wondered about 'blue and green should never be seen' when you think of blue sky and green fields together. Just goes to show rules are there to be broken! Beautiful photos Eirlys.

I've always thought that. When I first started pottering in the garden, i got caught up in colour schemes and planning what should go where. Over the years though I've found that it really doesn't matter, nature has a way of making sure any colour combination works. So I just buy plants that I like and plant them where I want.

Can't say as I've ever worried about the colours clashing as regards my garden, many times I've planned the colour scheme in my head but somehow it never works out, that's because I don't like spaces, so often a plant gets popped in to fill up a gap, Mother Nature has a hand in it also, my aquilegia's have all changed colours this year so definitely no organised colour scheme for those, if they clash then so be it, lol..Yours looks gorgeous....

Beautiful photos Eirlys as you say we would never dream of putting these colours together yet they look so good in the garden. I think the Rhodo`s are bright brash and beautiful.

That is so true how we would never put certain colours together yet mother nature can and it looks good. They are lovely.
