Cinderella's Secret Garden...

Hello again my friends\0/
We got truly spoilt on the 29th May, 2011, as not only did we get to spend a delightful afternoon at Dottydaisy’s First NGS Open Day, but on taking Cinderella home, she kindly invited us to stay for tea, and a wander around her wonderful garden…How spoilt can one Goyer be????
Well, as you can imagine, I needed no second bidding, and within minutes, was busy whipping out my camera again, and treating myself to the delights of Cinder’s garden.
And what a garden it was!!
Cinderella’s garden is a real gem, and has a really lovely green backdrop of trees at the rear of it, (and she told us there is a small brook that runs just behind the back of her fence too…so you would also have the sound of gently moving water to add to the ambience of the scene).
It reminded me of a rather beautiful secluded Secret Garden, as it is tucked away at the back of a row of terrace cottages, built around the year 1840. It is situated in a small village setting near Salisbury, Wiltshire
You step outside the back door, and onto the terrace, and it is laid out before you like a visual feast….
You go down a few steps to get into the heart of the garden, which is partly paved and lawn, and there is a varied selection of raised beds and borders…
Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder…And there’s something quite magical in seeing your garden through a strangers eyes…..And I hope that my camera lens has captured the essence of this beauty, and conveys it to you all here through my humble blog…
Thank you Cinder’s for allowing me to share this with so many of our friends on here…
Sit back folks and get ready for a really lovely visual treat of the horticultural variety…
This is an absolutely stunning Honeysuckle, and adorned the back fence. Neither I or Cinder’s could recall its name, so any help out there would be much appreciated…
I think that Cinder’s said that this Clematis was Doctor Ruppel, and as it is in a slightly more shaded are of her garden, the colours were really striking. Out in the full sun, this Clematis has a tendency to lose some of its colour intensity..
You can see what a special garden this is, and it has such a sense of peace and love within it. It holds you as you enter it, and wraps itself around you like a warm comforting blanket.
Cinderella, is in every touch, every part of it, and I feel really honoured that she shared it with us, as I am now sharing it with you…
A garden like this, you must admit my friends, is just too good to stay a secret for long…Hope that you enjoyed…\0/X

Thanks so much for that Bev. What a wonderful blog and a beautiful garden. Cinders, you weren't kidding when you told me it was full up! Great work you've done there. You've also just reminded me of something....I saw some Digitalis similar to this at Chelsea. They were called 'Devon Cream'. I need to buy some seed so I can add them to my longest border for next year.....off I go hunting! :))

Well, this GoYer is most impressed with this blog, Cinders! What a lovely garden you have created, so much colour and it's only just June. You deserve a pat on the back. : o )

I will have to chip in here and thank all you lovely people for the great comments. I am not a terribly organised gardener really, things mostly get put in where there is a space, except for the Heuchera bed and the new corner garden where I wanted colour, especially in the winter where I look out onto it. You are all very kind, thank you, and thanks to Flori for her wonderful photos and kind words.
5 Jun, 2011
Wow what a fantastic garden, congratulations to Cinders for allowing you to share it with us and to you Flori for such a wonderful blog and superb pics. How lucky you were to see TWO such beautiful gardens in one day, I'm green with envy!
5 Jun, 2011
It's a very pretty garden - I can see how much hard work and love has gone into it, Cinders. I have no idea what the honeysuckle's name is, but it's a real feature. :-)) Thanks, Flori!
5 Jun, 2011
Thanks for the blog Flo, I enjoyed seeing Cinders garden.
Cinders: You have a beautiful garden packed with stunning plants.

That honeysuckle looks similar to the one ShirleyTulip put on recently....
6 Jun, 2011
Thankyou Spritz & Dawn You are very kind. Karen I shall have to take a look at Shirleys honeysuckle.
Just had a look and it does look very much like it.
6 Jun, 2011
Hello Flori, it's been nice to see some photos of you on your garden adventures recently.I think it's lovely that you have been able to meet up with so many other Goyers. Cinders has a very pretty garden.
6 Jun, 2011
Cinders, my Honeysuckle is 'Golden Trumpet' ... does look very similar to yours. : o )
6 Jun, 2011
Thanks Shirley, I must make a note of that. I agree it does look the same. I have had it for years, it was a free one when a garden centre near here gave them away if you spent over a certain amount. I never kept the label.
6 Jun, 2011
Sounds like my kind of garden centre! : o )))
6 Jun, 2011
Your garden is alive with colour and so much variety, Cinders. I love the fullness of all your borders and your little seating area.
The honeysuckle really is smashing....so cheerful with its abundant blooms :) And your heucheras look so good together....I only had 3 heucheras so have spaced them in the garden but with every intention of buying more so I can clump them together....it looks so very effective and attractive.
Thanks to you, Flora, for taking the photos and sharing Cinders' garden with us all.
6 Jun, 2011

Oh Cinderella, you have a stunning garden full of colour. It looks so good and it puts mine in the shade.

I seem to be taking over Flori's blog, I hope she doesnt mind, but I can't let all the comments go by without acknowledging them. Thanks Richard, nice to hear from you. I am glad you like my garden. I am sure yours is fine too.
7 Jun, 2011
Thanks Cinderella the runner beans and tomatoes in my garden are coming along fine but there is not much colour there at the moment until the flowers start to bloom :-). (Hope you are well Flori..and you Cinderella )
7 Jun, 2011
I am so pleased to see you taking over my blog on your gorgeous garden, Cinders, it just goes to prove how wonderful it is, and I am so delighted that I put this on, as so many can now appreciate the beauty of what we saw when we took you home...When you live with your own garden, you just can't see it the way that others do...I really hope that this blog proved what a gem you have, through your own loving work, hidden away in this little village. I bet your OH is looking down on you and is so mightily proud of what you have achieved my dear friend...All these comments praising your garden are well deserved, Cinders...I am just chuffed that I could do my little bit to bring it to other Goyers attention...\0/X
8 Jun, 2011
You are so kind Flori, I love all your comments, especially about my OH. He would have loved it I know. Thank you so much. As soon as the weather warms up again you must come over.

Thank you so much Pip. I am hoping to meet up with Flori again this week and her OH. If the weather holds we will be having tea in the garden !!
31 Jul, 2011
Don't forget the camera:-))
1 Aug, 2011
It will be my garden Ba, and I have just heard that they will be visiting next Sunday, so I am sure Flori will have her camera and I will definitely have mine.
1 Aug, 2011
I heard on radio this morning that we are in for 2 glorious weeks, so bikinis at the ready:-)
2 Aug, 2011
I think it's about time the UK got their share of the Sunshine, and we got our share of the rain...after all tis ony fair...:o))
2 Aug, 2011
I was wrong:-(
4 Aug, 2011
Unfortunately, Ba, but as we always say, the gardens need it, or mine does.
4 Aug, 2011
Sunny again here today hooray\0/ May be able to have Granddaughters birthday meal (her choice, just family) in the garden:-)
5 Aug, 2011
/that will be nice. I'm hoping for a fine day Sunday, as Flori and her OH are coming for tea.
5 Aug, 2011
Lovely...and just look at the weather:-) Well it's sunny here, give them my love:-)
7 Aug, 2011
I will do Ba. Just had a shower, but sun trying to come through. Sitting in the garden is debatable at the moment.
7 Aug, 2011
Rain and more rain here today...comes over in waves...still it's helping the garden...and I can get on with something else...for a change...:o))
7 Aug, 2011
Anyway, hope you had a lovely time:-)
8 Aug, 2011
Thanks Ba. We had a lovely time. Just before Flori arrived we had the most horrendous storm, which battered and flooded the garden, so we couldnt really sit out in it, but the sun did come out for a while, which meant Flori and Andy could take a few 'wet' photos. Raffles enjoyed it too.
8 Aug, 2011
Pity about the downpour, but good happy company is like sunshine:-) Hope to see some pics:-)
8 Aug, 2011
Well I didnt take any, but Flori did, so we shall have to wait and see.
8 Aug, 2011
Is she coming back to us?:-)
8 Aug, 2011
I think so, but is very busy at the moment on other projects apparently.
8 Aug, 2011
We do miss her humour and her lovely blogs don't we:-(
9 Aug, 2011
We do. lol :o)))
9 Aug, 2011
Really cold here today:-(
9 Aug, 2011
Is it, I haven't been out yet !! But sun is shining.
9 Aug, 2011
Send it over here:-)
9 Aug, 2011
