A sunny day in the garden...honest!

Thanks for that lovely pics and such vibrant colours your Mr cool is a dead ring for my Guy who is now 10 at 9 months he was abandoned on guy fawks night in a carrier outside a shop on sevenoaks high street I couldnt believe someones cruelty. He has been with us for 9 years and has flourished though he still hates noice.

We've had quite a bit of rain this morning and windy with it, came nice around 11am than poured it down again at teatime, although its not raining it is very windy.

Morrissey is 10 & a rescue too Drc...he had been left with his sister & we had her too but sadly lost her on the road soon after. She was long-haired & we called her Tabitha. Not wanting him to be lonely we got Phoebe from the CPL too...but the 2 have never really hit it off! Typical!!

Lovely flowery things Fluff, we to had an awfully hot day yesterday. It hit 30 and was still 21 at midnight last night. A bit of a change today though, rain, wind and cold this morning but it brightened up about three(ish) :~))

Wasn't it nice ti have a hot day for a change Ian...didn't last long did it??!! Rained hard today...hubby on last few
days of freedom from regular work got soaked on a bikeride!
I think my sweet peas are late Spritz as I was late getting them going as usual.

The red tipped ornamental grass is called 'Imperata' Mookins...I really need to overhaul my garden as that has been in it's pot for years as have many other plants I own! But sometimes I'm wary of re-potting things in case I upset them! Not very confident on that front.

One thing I have learned MP, NEVER just pop to the post box or even the front garden/dustbin even at 7am or midnight wearing your scruffiest house/gardening clothes/ nightie thinking that you won't be seen. You WILL bump into your neighbour who wears clothes for gardening that you would go to a wedding in (OK slight exaggeration) and never ever gets them dirty!!! :o(((

Yep! My neighbours can all see into my garden, unfortunately, & have seen me out there moving slabs & double-digging the garden in shots, big boots & a bra! NOT pleasant! Might put them off watching me tho! lol!

Last weekend I stopped to buy some runner beans from the drive of a house in my local town ... paid my money, picked up me beans & fell flat on my face in the gravel...embarrassing or wot?

Anyway...really hurt my left knee & thigh...so by the time I got home & had a bath I was in agony...bit like a skin graft going on on my knee so couldn't bear anything to touch it...put on a pair of baggy, unflattering, old & washed out shorts...only to answer the door to an ex-boyfriend who is a postie standing in for our usual one...I died, he laughed....;0(

They're built, half-filled & lined with cardboard, & I've put in topsoil & sand, but I need to get LOTS of compost, so I've covered them in another layer of cardboard & two layers of weed-suppressing membrane & put slatted wood covers over them til I can get it!

My raised beds are not lined Marie. Had them for 10 years and all OK although they do dry out a lot as are in sun all day - when it shines! :o(( Mine are for flowersand made of brick, don't know if it's different for veggies. Just scrolled back and seen yours are made from kitchen units so yes I think you would need to line them.

I intend to use slabs or bricks for the outside of them as finances allow, but I'll just need to try to shift the soil & stuff enough to line them! Might just use bubble wrap, as I have loads left!

That would do it Hatter, just shovel all the soil to one side lay down your wrap and then do the same with the other side! ! ! Your not intending to do the bottoms are you? you'll have to let the water out or you'll end up with a pond! ! !

Every house I've ever been in that's had loads of cats ...& I mean a lot...has always smelt 'catty'...especially the ladies who foster kitties for re-homing...I suppose it's because they are kept indoors!

yes it must be that, angelina is an indoor cat,, well they asked me to take her on those conditions, but i couldnt keep her cooped up so she is always out when im here, she cant jump or climb so i dont need to worry, she is so happy just enjoying the garden,

Our neighbour has a tabby called Whisper who creeps out of the window catflap very slowly when his owner is home & just sits in her garden hissing at anyone who passes! He seems to enjoy the sunshine but is scared of everything else!

Our Phoebe sleeps on top of me in bed sometimes & when I turn over she turns with me like you would walk on an oil drum if you see what I mean?
She also purrs loudly in my ear so have to gently push her off to get some sleep!

Tell me about it Fluff, our "lovely" neighbours next door (the ones who have their own special pharmacy, wink wink) have a lot of cats and when they have their door open we have to close our windows. The smell is not just "catty" its digusting. I know just recently they had a repair man from the council who went in and then about 5 mins later was stood outside on his mobile telling, his boss? that he could stick his job if he thought he (the repair man) was going back in. ! ! !

Fluff I absolutely loved the plants at the beginning of this blog......and still do. The cats are adorable too. I just kept reading on and on and am now in stitches listening to all the gossip going on. Phoebe has really enjoyed hubby being home unemployed for the last few months (tho'I haven't!) & has become very attached to him but when she hears my car pull in at 6pm every night she comes down the path to meet me & does a spazzy turn on the tarmac until I pick her up & carry her in! Sweet.

Lily2 so sorry and when I tell you that once I was petrified of *******'s but it was just one of the many phobias I had.
