A late sunflower

Self seeded ,a gift from the birds ...

Somehow the colours on the later flowers seem to be brighter and more eye-catching but maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part!

Nice. A grew some small sunflowers for the birds. I've read you should cut the flowers off when they've gone over and lay them on the ground for the birds?

Mine finally got frozen...and the heads are bent down...going to leave them where they stand (beside the greenhouse) and let the birds and squirrels enjoy themselves. I'm thinking that maybe next year I'll plant a long row of them for the seeds. They are delicious roasted.
