What alovely reminder of summer !

Is Henry practising wagging his tail and licking everyone yet?

30 Jan, 2009

He is so soppy, he'll lap up the attention and get tail-ache!

LOL. Poor Henry. You'll have to put it in a splint.

Congratulations Spritzhenry.

I like the crazy paving path.
Pretty garden.

Such a beautiful garden Spritz....and Henry there looking very pleased with it. I love the plants creeping over the path...that is a look I want in my garden.

It has to be a cottage garden, doesn't it! A 'modern' or 'minimalistic' look would be completely out of keeping with the house. I get moans about plants creeping across the paths, though - from my husband.

Henry is a very lucky dog to have such a large garden (and stream) to play in! He has grown up here, so he doesn't know any different.

Wow that is so pretty , beautiful Spritz , I would love to move it into mine !

Do you manage to keep Henry from watering the plants, Spritz....I have bought a spray for my garden but Finn has killed so many plants especially those near the edge of a border.

Usually, he's very good - but of course I can't watch him all the time in a big garden. When he is let out in the small back garden, am and pm, I keep a watering can to hand and dash across to save the watered plant!

He has killed a few violas, though.

A beautiful garden and a very handsome doggie "Hello Henry can polly come and play in your garden with you?"

31 Jan, 2009

He would immediately go to the steps down to the stream and look at Polly as if to say- 'aren't you coming in'? He does that whenever we have any doggy friends here! THEN - he's in, followed by his friend!

Stunning, I love Somerset been caravanning there in the past. Good luck with your open garden days. Our garden isnt by any means up to such a standard :-) very rustic and heaps to do, was a complete mess and overgrown when we moved here in 2002, it seems to take ages, done loads since we've been here and just the same amount to do for bringing it all up to scratch.

Thank you for that! There's always lots to do, isn't there! I've just started yet another task which is proving extremely difficult - by the stream, there are two types of grasses - they are spreading and I want a space to plant some Cornus for the stem colours. The roots are so deep and they are like thick wire, all entangled. I've had to enlist my husband's help as I just couldn't get them out - it will take a while to clear an area, I think!!!

Gonna logout now Spritz so I can look on NGS website to see how far you are away from me. Roll-on June!

Thanks, Vicky - it's looking sad at the moment, but seeing photos like this again make me realise that it will come back (with a lot of hard work!) Henry is part of it - it's his garden as well. :-)))

Its alway amazing how it looks so sad then so much can happen all of a sudden and it springs back into life
Great nature isnt it ...

Weeeeelllllllllll........I'm not too happy with nature at the moment! One of my Heucheras in a pot has died, and another one has got severely sat on by the jumbo-jet pigeons! That won't survive, either. I shall have to replace them later on. Can't see the others......or anything low-growing really....I wonder why? ;-(
