It can be difficult, Deida! The room they are supposed to be restricted to has bare varnished floorboards so can be cleaned fairly easily. I have a rug in there which I usually remove but this year I have covered it with a large sheet of heavy plastic, not very successful as it 'walks'. Later this year I am hoping to get the floor laminated which will make cleaning even easier. I am seriously considering not hibernating them next year because the weather is so unpredictable and it's difficult to keep them at an even hibernating temperature. They do tend, mostly, to stay within range of the heat lamp but they just cannot resist going through an open door :)

I bought the towels in BHS a couple of years ago, Terry, in a sale. They seemed appropriate as I have the village duck pond as a neighbour :)

I bet you have your hands full Gee.....nice to think they're all warm though.....now they just want a towel with tortoises on...Lol!

I keep looking, Janey! I have also searched everywhere (and have friends looking too) for socks with tortoises on :) No luck yet!

Nice to see the tortoise Gee. Pity you can't teach him to use a box like a cat does. He'd have to have a shallow sided one though.
