so many to barb ara, lovely, do you leave them in once finished, i noticed on four seasons they take them up and keep till next year, i leave all bulbs in and hope for best, mind you cant remember where they are till i come to plant something else lol

They can stay where they are - I don't use their space for anything else, as the ash tree is a weeping tree, so you can't see through the leaves once they grow.

Lovely group SH
,having seen winter Aconites with them last weekend thinking of trying some.Barbara do you know if they grow from dry corms or shoud they be planted green like snowdrops

20 Feb, 2010

I don't really succeed with Aconites, Bjs, I've tried both ways, and the most successful has definitely been 'in the green'. I've seen adverts for them like that as well, so I think that's probably the way to grow them. I might even order some now!

These two compliment each other so well.

Thanks, Dawn. :-)

Hi Spritz. I've just called Anglia Bulbs where I had the snowdrops from and their Aconites (in the green) are £7 per 50. They are in flower now and are ready to be lifted and sent - if you dont have the details of the company still, I can pm you.

20 Feb, 2010

Thanks - I thought I might get some! No, that's fine thanks, I have their number. :-))

20 Feb, 2010

OK Spritz, out of interest , also in the green they have Tete a Tete (£8 per 50) and Crocus (£8 per 100) :-)

20 Feb, 2010

I don't really need the Tete a Tete, Dawn - and don't mention the word 'Crocus' please - I've got squirrel trouble now! :-(((((((

20 Feb, 2010

Oh no, are they digging them up or eating the flowers?

20 Feb, 2010

Nipping off the shoots, Dawn, and eating the corms. I've just come in from 3 hours out there, and I suspect we might have a rabbit - so it could be him - could it? I'll ask a question, I think. :-(((

20 Feb, 2010

I dont know Spritz about squirrels and rabbits. You seem to have all the naughty wildlife in your garden, when a nuisance and what a waste of your time and money. Apparently rabbits love holly, they would each a young holly shoot before a carrot, lol. They also like to eat the bark from young trees.

20 Feb, 2010

It's driving me mad, Dawn. I have asked the question now - we'll see if anyone can suggest anything - apart from a shotgun!

20 Feb, 2010

Sorry to hear about your squirrel problems,

20 Feb, 2010

...or rabbits, Carol - as I found a new hole today...so it could be. Whatever is doing it,I wish it would go away! :-(((

20 Feb, 2010

I hope you get a solution.

20 Feb, 2010

Thanks - so do I!! And SOON!!
