I like the look of these, how tall do they grow please?

Hi Janey.
I have just seen this photo as it came up as a related picture to my question regarding this very plant.
I was asking if anybody has grown it in wet conditions as some of my grasses/sedges have rotted in my very damp beds on one side of the garden. Did these grow well for you, and what sort of soil/conditions are they in please?
Be helpful to hear of your experience with it.
Thanks
Paul.

Do you know Paul, I've a feeling these didn't do well.
What I thought were Carex comans for a couple of years turned out to be Stipa frosted curls, and I have so many of those, they are really tough cookies, great in any location and any soil, self seed giving you so many plants from the initial purchase.
I think my Janeke must have rotted too. If you want a spectacular lemon yellow variegated grass or sedge, Acorus is a real winner, especially in damp locations. In fact it only flowers when it is submerged, so a great pond margin, bog garden or damp situation plant. And looks lovely in a tub too. Have a look at my pics and if you like, I'll send you some through....

Yes, I have three Acorus in the wettest part of the bed and they are doing fine....already grown quite a lot in 7 or 8 months. I have another one in the cold frame waiting to go in.
But, the three frosted curls I had all rotted and they weren't even in the wettest place. Yet, in my clay soil at the last house they thrived, self seeded etc!

Acorus do seem to cope with any situation Paul, thats why I'm so fond of them, especially in winter when they add light and movement to your garden. Also the way they bulk up is so unusual, just like a roll of turf....lol!
I have plenty of frosted curls, shall I send you one through? Give it a try, if it rots then we'll, they're definitely not for your Garden. I can never remember which is Carex, or Stipa!
