May Fair

I am so hoping for fine weather tomorrow as it’s our local May Fair. I have missed most of it in previous years because I always worked on Saturday, so tomorrow I shall be there as it opens. Lots of plant and other stalls and a dog show later in the afternoon. It will be my first outing, other than walks in the park, for a couple of weeks because the ‘bites’ I had on my forehead and one eyelid turned out to be shingles – ouch! I couldn’t wear a contact lens in one eye and my old specs were fairly useless. Good thing Sophie knows the way to the park. I’ve obviously done something strange to the computor as well because it doesn’t do paragraphs anymore. Ah well, hasn’t stopped me digging.

Thank you Hywel. It's not so painful now but not being able to see properly is driving me mad. I shall have to look closely at the plants, otherwise who knows what I'll come home with.

Ginellie I feel for you, I had shingles around the eye, was lucky not to lose my eyesight, then yesterday bent down to tie in a clematis and stabbed myself in the same eye on the leaves of an iris.....I look terrible as it has turned a very nasty red........the grandchildren keep looking at it and saying how horrible it looks....it does not stop them from saying "let me see you eye Grandma" and then uhhhhhhhhh that revolting........bless!!!
Anyhow have a great day, hope you see lots of plants to buy.

Well it seemed much more of a fun fair this year. A few stalls with books and things and a few very sad looking tomato plants, but thats all. I did buy something though, a baby bath for 50p, perfect for washing Miss Sophie when she has a good roll in the park.
