Around Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in November
8 comments
Went around the Sir Harold Hillier gardens, near Romsey, this Monday. It was a dull & damp day but managed to get some pictures before the rain forced me to stop
This time I was after Autumn colours, although there are lots of colours trying to do them justice with a camera is not as easy as it may seem
I have used an image processor programme to help bring out some the colours & textures
These three are near the entrance and Winter garden
Walk on a bit and there are fungus, these are growing out of dead tree. Anyone know what they are? I think honey fungus given location & colour but can’t confirm from web
This one was lonely one under a bush
Walking on round to the pond area, ideal for reflections & colour, plus a couple of sculptures.
The dragonfly has been a fixture for a few years
This ball is a new addition
More colours around the pond
And lastly lichen

Thanks for sharing this! I love Hillier’s style and always admire their stand at Chelsea. Great pics, and I love the Horse Chestnut sculpture. :)

I think the single mushroom photo is of a Shaggy Parasol
Not sure of the yellow ones, there are so many that grow on dead wood.

Don’t you just love Autumn eh, what fantastic colours, you have taken some good pics, one of my favourite plants the callicarpa , such a stand out shrub this time of year, looks like you had a lovely day out.
