Wildlife found near to the pond

This is a little collection of wildlife that is visting my pond area. There is still nothing IN the pond but one day there will be!!
It’s a mouse an ordinary mouse I think groan. I was hoping it would be a field mouse or a door mouse but no!!
Next (not a very good picture I know) Its a blue tit on the feeder which is in the plum tree. Whoever put the feeder on there – ooops me lol
Next we have a ladybird on the water butt. Haven’t seen a black and red one for quite some time.
The sparrows have been queing up to dismantle my hanging basket, there taking bits for their nests.
They even que up to feed. There good good at waiting their turn. I do wish though that they would extend the same curtoutsy to the poor bluetit. They always bully him and he ends up flying away aahhh.
How could I forget to put my daughters rabbit in this blog. This is Biscuit, you may have seen the pictures of Sweep his father getting into my strawberry pot. Biscuit looks around the wildlife area. I hope I get his aapproval!!
He even checks out the pond. Don’t fall in Biscuit!!!! Can rabbits swim??
Curtiosity killed the rabbit!
This is how my wildlife area looks today 31st May 2010.
Here’s hoping that in the next few weeks I get some creatures IN the pond and more creatures visiting my wildlife area.

have you tryed getting some wildlife for the pond,what about frogspawn or water insectes,and am i wrong or not but what is causeing the ripple on your pond,maybe a start lol

LOl Chris its the wind waffting the algae around!!! The pond needs to stabilise itself first before the creatures come to the pond. I have gone pond dipping and theres nothing in it yet, I think Biscuit likes this area. He always hops of to it!

I've just had a look on youtube and yes there's swimming rabbits on there. To find google swimming rabbit youtube.

All in good time Great......things will happen be sure of that but it may take some time to mature in that area as a whole.

Aw well I learnt something new already today and its only 08.30 Perhaps when it gets hot Biscuit will go for a swim. That will be very interesting!!

Just seen some very small black wriggerlings things in the pond, near the surface. Been on the pond conservation website and can't find out what they are. Tried to take a phot but camera is rubbish!!

were they black and shiny spinning in circles? if so they are whirylgig beetles. they fly in.

No SBG I am sure there lavae of something maybe dragonflies. They look like miniature tadpoles very tiny

Hi love the pond i want a tin bath or two and def for a pond can anyone help me ?? we are in Essex near southend if that helps ! i love this site nice we are all emabrking on new things ! need a pond for frogs as suggested for my slug problem !!!
