September in the garden

I don’t know about anyone else but the colours and flowering plants in my
garden this september are amazing.
They have flowered non stop all summer and usually by now I have to remove a lot of them as they begin to look a bit “tatty” but this year they are absolutely blooming.

The roses have started to bud again and apple tree has lots of fruit

even my front garden which is north facing and very shady is full of colour

not that I am complaining I am thoroughly enjoying the hot sun today and am quite happy to put off autumn and winter planting for a while!!

Your garden is still looking beautiful Helen. Lovely photos. I like to keep things going as long as possible too and only reluctantly pull out fading things when they're spoiling the rest. So far, so good......and now some lovely autumn sunshine too!

Well I must say Helen...your garden IS blooming...how do you do it?! Mine is looking tatty for sure now...everything been eaten by slugs/snails or beaten by the weather...have you got a special 'dome' over your patch for protection??!! Everything looks really healthy...especially the clematis.

thanks Fluff the biggest surprise is that i stay in Bonnie Scotland which is not renowned for" good weather" although I think we have a mix of good and bad, much the same as anywhere else in Britain.

That's what I was thinking without saying it Helen! We're supposed to have the best of it down south! Must be your green fingers & nothing to do with the weather!!

Think this is just a really good year for my garden FluffT,also up here we may not always be as hot as you are down south but no way are we as bad as the BBC weather would have you believe!!
You should hear me yelling at the TV when they say rain etc up NORTH and i am sitting in garden in sunshine!!!!

Well that's good to know Helen...we always feel sorry for you guys up north in the rain...& here you are with a lovely sunny garden!! We've had 3 or 4 good days of sun here...nearly didn't keep up with the watering!

Just come across your garden photos and your garden looks really lovely. It is a pleasure to sit out there in the summer and enjoy your handiwork, I'm sure . I hope you have been well, as you have not posted recently. I had a long time not posting much last summer when GJ was not well. Recently I have been more active. I even gave a talk at a club we belong to about GOY. I found only a few were into any kind of social networking.
