- Had a potter in the garden this afternoon, tidying up bits and pieces and all the pots i have. i couldnt beleive it when i saw this little tiny Rudbeckia flower open… it has grown already but the plant itself has not yet grown… very strange.. perhaps like me it couldnt wait for Summer : O ))

Quite strange that it has obviously been in hibernation just waiting for the sun to shine.

Do you take your Rubeckia in in the Winter Karen or were they just young plants?

Linda, I got one for the first time last year, Prairie Sun. I loved it and read that it was best to treat them as annuals as they are not hardy. So I decided to try leaving it in the pot but putting it in the greenhouse. It has worked! Great!

It's nice to see something out of season. I do like rudbeckias aswell. I hope we don't get bad weather to spoil your first flower now :)
