Ha Ha Ha! Cheered me up no end!!
On a lady bird themed note, whilst giving my borders their annual spring tidy up, I noticed 100's of lady birds that wer hiding in amongst the dead leaves. I made a couple of piles in a sheltered spot and spent nearly an hour moving as many lady birds as I could find into them. Some of them were very big: Ido hope this doesn't mean we are in for another lady bird invasion like the one we had in the 1970's.....

That was kind of you to mov ethem to a safe place... what a lot youve got.... ive seen a few in the garden but not as many as you..... : O ))

Lady bird update: I have been looking again this afternoon and had to destroy quite a number of them!
They were the dreaded asian invaders that have been spreading all over the country eating our native lady bird lava and their food. I was amazed at how many have over wintered. And today, I saw my first wasp of the year and what a big, noisy thing it was too! Sounded like a world war 2 bomber coming into land. I am not keen on them even though thay do eat a lot of garden nasties.

thats early for wasps.... sorry about the ladybirds.....

31 Mar, 2011

Yes I know. The next thing will be wasps appearing in the house again from goodness knows where! We always seem to have a few that have overwintered and they always come out during a programme I am watching.....
