And then there were six ! :o)

The other day I was going to plant a hardy Fuchsia in the garden, and dug a nice deep hole for it.
Then as I was tipping it out of its pot, it snapped right down at the base of the stem :(
I won’t tell you what I said !
I’d have to translate it anyway …
But I made the bit that snapped off into cuttings, and I’ve got 5 of them.
(I’ve put them in my propagator, and I hope they root)
And if you count the original one, which I’m hoping will re-grow, I will have six.
So it wasn’t all bad … :o)

Good job, Hywel. But that terrible moment when something goes "snap" ... ?

Oh Hywel what a shame, still if your past record is anything to go by, you'll soon have 6 new plants for the garden :)

Bet it was good in either language, lol, I would have sat and cried as well as swearing Hywel, hope they do well for you....

Bet you could have kicked yourself, and its so easily done
(did it myself a couple of days ago but didn't take cuttings as I only broke half of it)
What was it?

Thank you all for having confidence in my ability to take cuttings. I have none lol ...
It was Connie Steragram. I only bought it this year, and was hoping to see it flowering in my front garden. Now I'll have to wait till next year !

I'm sure the cuttings will take, but I'd be tempted to take the biggest leaves off the one on the left of the photo, to reduce water stress on the cutting.
annoying when that happens. I bought an iris a bit back and snapped the only flower bud off. I had to wait a full year :o(
I'd expect you to get some flowers from the other plant Hywel later in the year.

Thank you. I've taken the big leaves off now. They are in my propagator and look fine :)

How annoying, but accidents will happen to all of us. Good luck with the cuttings, I 'm sure they will root ok @ we'll be seeing the results next year.

Well it will look amazing if you have a group of several of them!

If you have to translate, then it couldn't of been good. Looks like you made the best of the situation. I hope the cuttings take a la Fuchsia incarnate.

Thank you all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the cuttings :)
