Hello everyone, I’m BELLA, and I enjoy having my photos put on Grows on you :o)

I thought I’d tell you I climbed up to the top of a high fence one day last week !
There’s a nice view from there … and I can see all the insects and birds in everyone’s gardens, and in the hedgerow :o)

Mind you, I have to say I have never caught a bird in my life. They don’t stay on the ground long enough =^..^=
but I am good at catching moths and spiders,
and there are plenty of field mice and shrews in the hedgerows :o)

It’s a job to balance on top of the fence but we cats are good at that … we are very agile :o)

After I’d seen all I could from the fence, I went up on the shed roof …

When I’m up there I like to play with a stick :)
but this time Hywel couldn’t find a nice one so he used an old wooden spoon :o)

Well, a cat’s life is very busy and I have a lot to catch up on … so I’ll say good bye for now.
See you again soon =^..^=

A great blog, what a lovely cat you have in Bella, so pretty, you are, lucky she cannot catch the birds, thats what used to upset me about ours, they were dreadful, birds, frogs, squirrels.........never spiders lol

Hello Bella, its nice to hear from you again. Doesn't standing on that narrow fence hurt your paws- I can see there isn't room for you whole foot to rest on the top. Its a grand place to survey the next door garden from! Can you see right out over the hills from there? I think the shed roof is safer and more comfortable!

Ro says she can see you have grown a long winter coat and wants to know if you find it hard to lick to the end of the fur on your chest, as she sometimes can't.

I'm glad you don't catch birds, you're a Good Puss.

Hello lovely Bella great to see you are keeping a good eye on all that is going on in your garden from you high vantage points, nice that you had time to play with Hywel too before you caught up on your sleep indoors, you were probably indoors because of the rain it has been stair rods here today, hope the sun shines for you soon so you can guard your garden =^..^= prrrr

Lovely pictures of Bella - she is a very pretty cat and obviously likes her picture taken - my dog Bluey will sometimes pose nicely and then at other times she will have none of it !! Jane

I have just read 'Toby Jug' by Denis O'Connell, you would love it Hywel. Didnt want to take it back. Large print version in the library.

Hello Bella,
My name is Toffee and I like to sit on the fence as well, its fun isn't it, being able to see all around where you live, I wait for my friend to come and play with me, he lives close by, we climb the trees and lay on the garden if its soft, I hide from the birds as well but my mum doesn't like it if I chase them, climbing up on the flat roof is fun as well and its a good place to hide when they want me to go indoors, not sure whether they know I can get onto it, Tipsy and Ollie (sometimes my friends but they're old and only want to sleep) showed me the way to climb up there when the sun was shining, anyway Sue can't reach me and I like to tease and hide at bedtime.
I have another friend Caspar but he has a grumpy face and boxes my ears if I jump on him, I would like to play with you Bella, you are pretty and have nice fluffy fur, would you box my ears if I jumped on you, its only playing really..

Hello ... thank you all for reading my blog. I enjoyed all your comments ;o))

Sue (Steragram) Please tell Ro that I get the same trouble as her with my long fur. Hywel brushes it for me every night but I don't like him going lower down than my shoulders.
He does try, but I give him a swipe with my paw ...

Neena yes the rain has been bad here too, and the wind is dreadful tonight :o( I think I'll be cuddling up on a nice warm chair ...

Jane I don't pose for my photos. Hywel takes pot luck, and usually misses because I have moved lol ...

Hello Toffee ... I'm glad to hear you enjoy yourself in the garden.
I don't think I'd box your ears. I think you are very friendly like the two tomcats that sneak into Hywel's kitchen to have a share of my food. He chases them away but I let them have a share :)

Wildrose I'm glad you think I'm a superstar :o))

Hi Bella ......Lady of all your survey ......

You're very lovely and have trained your human well,
Hope this awful wind and rain goes soon then a nice patch of spring sunshine comes just for you xxx

Ha Bella, you are even more particular than me. Sue brushes me in the morning. I let her do my sides but NOT my tummy or back legs. She tried to get a little bit of matted fur from my tummy yesterday and for the first time in my life I spat at her and drew blood on her hand with my claws. She said something stern to me but I just glared back and went to sit on David's knee instead.

What I liked about 'Toby Jug' was that Denis kept writing about how understanding animals are with each other.
They are not wild creatures. When the horse was dying
Toby Jug sat by her. The horse cried. Toby cried.
and Denis cried. (and I cried)

Be careful on that fence Bella. That bird is eyeing you from above.

Thank you all for reading my blog :o)

Hi Ro, I'm sorry to hear that happened with Sue ... I hope she has forgiven you.
Hywel tried to cut a big knot from one of my back legs with a scissors this morning. I let him do it but then I gave him a glare !

Thank you Diane. Hywel will have to read that book one day :)

Can I attach a photograph to a Private Message?
If so how?
Marjorie

I don't think that is possible on this site Marjorie :(

Bella you are very good letting Hywel cut mats from your back legs. I regret I am so resistant that they had to ask the vet to do mine - how naughty is that??

11 Feb, 2016

Hywell I was asking this question because I have done a painting of beautiful Bella which I was going to send to you if you approved. I can put a copy on the site if that's alright with you and if you like it I will send you the original.Let me know what you think.

I've sent you a private message Marjorie :)

=^..^=
Hywel was taking about a vet too Ro, but I didn't fancy that ...
I know you were naughty, but what's the point of being a cat if you can't be naughty ? :D

You are a great comfort to me Bella. =^..^=

Bella, can I just say that you are quite the most beautiful cat I have seen in a long time. I'm sure you're owners Hywel and Beryl know how lucky they are to have you living with them, but just in case they get a little too complacent, you're welcome to come for a little holiday to Yorkshire anytime you want. I can promise you a cosy chair to curl up in and tasty cat treats =^..^=

Thank you. I may take you up on that offer one day :D

=^..^= hello Bella! You like high places just like my Rufus... I think Rufus is a Norwegian Forest Cat and Bella looks like Rufus's mother. I'd never heard of the breed until last summer when they started showing up on some cat sites on the internet. One of their major characteristics is their love of heights... trees, rooftops, fences... have a pic of Rufus tippy-toeing almost at the end of a long branch of a fir tree!... in the trees he's part squirrel, and they don't mind cold weather and snow. When I read the NFC descriptors I was glad to give an identity to the behaviours which were so different from other cats we've had. will have to look for that pic... =^..^= Bella you truly are bella!

=^..^= Thank you Lori, I am exactly like a Norwegian Forest Cat. I'm glad to hear Rufus is one also :)
Several years ago Hywel had another cat the same, but I am told she had a black face. She liked to climb trees, and she'd sit on the roof and catch bats:)
She lived until she was 22 yrs old !
